I know right...that really isn't how I usually ride...you should see me whipping my buddy on his 636 , but yeah, it was my first time having the GoPro on and I wasn't really trusting of the adhesive mount and my penny pinching self couldn't risk loosing my precious new cam...

Thanks bro! There were plenty more twisties...but the editing process was hellish! jeez... I just chopped parts indiscriminately to make what I thought was a "decent" job. I'll do better next time and with multiple cams and PIP.

those gopros are surprisingly tough. ive seen them survive everything thrown at them including crashes and getting ran over by bikes. worst ive seen happen to them is a scratched up case

Thanks man. It's a KBC VR1X "Beast". Got it as a present from mom, which knocked my socks off...not because it was a present, but because she chose the most aggressive, "devilish" helmet she could find lol...not something you'd expect from a bible consuming woman, but whoever really understood their parents, I ask

Where is the camera mounted in this video? Can you get a picture of it if possible? I've been thinking of a place to mount from this angle.

It's mounted on my front brake fluid reservoir. The flat, rectangular shape of our front brake reservoirs makes for an ideal place to put the flat adhesive mount for the GoPro. I literally had 30 minutes before hitting the road to try and figure out where to mount and so I went for the easiest place...hopefully I can easily remove the mount, going to convert to SS lines and flush the fluid...I'll post pics as soon as I get home.

The mounts come off more easily if you heat them, ie with a hair dryer, before yanking them off.

Oh!...great! I'll do just that...and since you seem to know more about 'em than I do, answer this for me...they are reusable right?

Sort of... The adhesive that is on the mount wont really be reusable. You can, however, remove it and purchase some 3M double sided adhesive and use that to replace it.

Handlebars were straight and true last time I checked...no reason for them to be bent.

I arranged the mount so that the screws are barely in touch with it and from what I've learned so far, the mount should come off simply enough with a little bit of heat. I did use the genuine GoPro adhesive mount (I know there are eBay ones out there, don't know how they hold up) but I just thought I'd be on the safe side...you can't go wrong with gorilla tape I have the suction mount, handle bar mount and several flat and curved sticky mounts on the way (bought a basic GoPro)...so, I'll be making better vids where I'll be sparing you of my sexy self. |
