I feel your pain. I have a dove (I believe) that decided to take up residence around where I live. I hear it all the time and it doesn't shut up either. On top of that, I have neighbors who own the most annoying dogs ever. I want to shoot them because they never stop barking. If it's night time, bring your dogs inside, or teach them not to bark at everything.

I hope they get this type of technology out, I would be the first customer...

Any chance it's an escaped pet? If so, it might be used to people.

Grab a compact disc or DVD and hold it and twist it around so the bird can see that it "sparkles". If it's domesticated, it might come over to you. Sounds crazy, but only takes a minute and might be worth a try.

But if it comes over to you, then what do you do?

i was trying to figure out what it is based on the local bird populations but it doesn't seem like its common so it probably was an escaped pet. though it doesn't respond very well and seems rather scared of humans so it probably escaped a bad owner when it was young maybe? it can fly so it hasn't been clipped. the parrots we get here are much bigger and darker and dont come until later in the year. they also sound much less annoying. this little bastard sounds annoying as hell and wont shut up. he has been there off and on since i moved in about 4 or 5 months ago. usually stays for a couple weeks then disappears for a few weeks

Try the shiny CD. It might land on your shoulder. Clipped wings grow back in a few months (definitely not permanent).
