Pregen and newgen stems are identical.

I would only remove a mm or two from the bottom and a mm or two from the top of the clip-ons so that I can mount them higher under the triple. I would not go far enough to reduce the structural integrity of the pinch bolts.

Ah. I'll ask around to see what might be best for grinding metal (it's steel, right?). Thanks!

Yes, the fork tube spacing is different so you can't swap the triple clamp without swapping in an entire upper and lower triple with forks. And, yes, I'm already doing that on a different bike. I'm actually working on two examples of "updated" EX250F bikes with paint and bolt-on parts. One uses the complete suspension swap and the other retains the pregen suspension (kind of a "budget" vs. "all out" comparison).

Not steel! It is Aluminum! Which is why I say I would not remove any from the bottom. I didn't even remove 1mm from the top. just enough that it looks level.

Is the newgen swinger longer than the pregen? If so I see a j Fork and swinger swap happening very soon.

I made some brackets that slip over the fork tubes between the triples.

I don't have a belt sander and I still need to get some handlebar risers cut down like this.
