You haven't washed it in 100 miles? That's lazy? I don't want to know what you'd consider me then.
Anyways, it looks good. |

I am pretty anal about keeping my bike super clean. prob since it's the first nice thing i've ever bought. Well also the fact that I bought it brand spanking new too!
I usually always wipe it down after every ride. Takes like 2 mins and gets most bugs, dust, dirt off. Then I wash it weekly, or if its super dirty. I went like 3 weeks w/ washing it hahaha. It was pretty bad imo and thanks! |

just a wipe down, not a wash. Just use micro fiber cloths no soap or water or anything

I am pretty much ocd about keeping my bike clean too. I like to take the fairings off and detail the engine every other wash. the only thing about taking a cloth to wipe it down is you get swirl marks in the paint.

a lot of you talk about upgrading the exhaust etc, but if you buy the bike new and do it it voids the warranty :s

Warranties are for pussies Seriously just keep the stock and put it back on if anything goes wrong. These bikes are pretty bullet proof

No, that's not how warranties work.

Sorry, that's not correct. Here's the relevant law:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnuso...s_Warranty_Act For the warranty to be voided, the manufacturer needs to show that the unauthorized modifications were related to the failure. For example, if someone put a completely unsuitable type of oil in the bike, and the engine was shown to fail due to that oil, the warranty would be voided and the owner would have no chance of recovering those costs in court or mediation. But it's nowhere near as broad as "anything altering the performance of the engine" voids the warranty on any engine problems down the line. That's not legal. Or accurate. More info from the Federal Trade Commision's site here: Quote:

Alex is definitely correct, ^^. I don't know why people always think a dealer can just void their warranty. If you put an aftermarket exhaust on and blow your engine from running too lean. The dealer can deny your warranty claim to repair it, but it in no way voids your entire warranty.

That actually does void the warranty as per the quote alex posted. The issue isn't Aftermarket parts, it's aftermarket parts that alter the performance of the engine. I can put on a rear cowel and a wind screen with no Ill effects, but if I get flushmounts and burn out my electrical it does in fact void the warranty. For all intensive purposes after market parts can void your warranty. Also that law isn't international. But most warranties don't even cover things that wear out over use/time, and it's completely un-related to this thread. I love the white lines on the red ones you shouldn't take it off :O. I think the yellow/black ones are ugly. |

To get back on topic, keeping your bike clean always helps when a problem arises. It is easier to see where you have a leak, lose nut or bolt, or any other problem when your bike is clean.

I like that color scheme. As much as I love the color red, the 2008 bikes were all red and solid red is not as nice as a red/black scheme, so I got black instead..

I've seem many thread where people use blow-dryers to heat up the decal and work them off. There was one recently where the bike was left in a hot garage and then some time in the direct sunlight worked them off.
