Scorpion helment vs HJC?

One of my coworkers today told me that her scorp 1100 helment has an air bladder in it that seals up tight against her face (and neck??). Does it fill up around your ears or just the lower parts of your face? I've told her before that I rode with ear plugs in and she says she doesn't because of that bladder. Can anyone comment on the wind noise level inside a scorpion 1000 or 1100 (both with air bladder) vs my HJC CL15?

Any comments about 1100 vs 1000 ? I'm in the mood for a helmet an internal visor and it looks like I'd be spending $180-ish anyway... the 1000 scorpion is right on target for that price range.

Thanks.
Wes

It will come in around your ears a bit when inflated. I still use the earplug in one ear and ear bud in the other as it didn't seem to make a huge difference to me. I feel nothing around the lower head/face when inflated.

I was riding with HJC dagger and purchased a scorpion 1000.

Internal visor is cool and all, I have used it once just to try it out and though it needed to cover closer or go down farther. But I am that odd guy who likes his visors clear with no sunglasses. You will want to hold out for another opinion there.

ive got the exo 500 and it has all the same features as the 1000 and 1100 only not as highly rated and not as much adjustable airflow, and I love it i ride to work and use the visor when I am on my way in. I work nights so it is a huge relief on my eyes as im not really used to the sunlight as much as most people. I paid 230 for it though, the wind noise isnt bad at all also. I would recommend the the 500 which from all my research while i was looking for a new helmet is well worth it.

i had a scorp 1000. the air bladder is nice, but a helmet that actually fits correctly in the first place is nicer. and if the helmet fits correctly, the air bladder is useless. the flip-down tint visor was great. but it was waaaay too heavy, and way too noisey. i've had a couple HJCs. they fall apart fast IMO. they weren't that heavy but they were noisey as hell and had crappy pads. i wear a shoei rf1100 now and its great. a bit heavier than i would like but its pretty quiet, super cozy, fits my head well and has good cooling

Agreed. A helmet that fits well to begin with is the best place to start. Having been said, it is to my understanding that the air-fit system is not designed to remedy that issue. You still size the helmet based on how well the shell conforms to your noggin, the cheekpads are merely just a fine tuning of the remainder. It's the same reason Arai and Shoei custom fit the helmet by changing out several cheekpads and the like. Your cheeks aren't what you're trying to protect (though to some extent you are), it's your brain.

I use a 750 which has the air bladder system but not the internal visor system.

ECE instead of SNELL.

Helmet size of small fits my crown perfectly. I used x-small cheek pads to provide a firmer fit along the cheek bones. The only time I still inflate the air bladders is highway riding

I have no complaints about the helmet which replaced a Shoei Z-II
