'08 Ninja build

I decided to pull the trigger on a Ninja 250 for a track bike to learn the proper way. I've ridden literbikes since I started riding motorcycles and recently had a CBR600 track-only bike (no vin) I rode once that I traded for a RC51 with a clear title. I'm not going to have the RC51 as a main track bike, they're (fun) pigs haha. I've owned a Ninja 250 before but I bought it cheap, fixed it up, and sold it for a profit so it didn't stick around for long.

Anyway, on to the Ninja.
The previous owner was a woman who crashed it at low speed on the right side. She managed to put 5000 miles on it before parting ways. It was priced right so I picked it up for tracking. First impressions after riding it home are - it is so slow, but I had a smile on my face the whole ride. Everything worked as advertised and I made it home just fine.

Immediate plans are:
- Replace the stock touring tires for Dunlop Unbeaten tires
- Take it to the next local track day in October and get my first impressions

Future Plans:
- Race fairings
- Exhaust/Jetting
- Clipons/Rearsets
- Seat time

Welcome, and nice bike. A new exhaust and some jetting done will speed it up a bit. I kinda wish I had a blue bike, since my black 250 looks pretty plain.

This is a good (although a little out of date now) article on building a track 250.

Ordered a set of Dunlop Unbeaten tires for my next track day. Hope to get to the next one in November!

Welcome Ashley. If you feel the front tires chatters and you don't like it with the Unbeaten 02 the solution is to go with a Dunlop 211GPA front (120/70/17). I like the Unbeaten 02 rears.
