who's attending the Long Beach (Cali) Motorcycle Convention this weekend?

Haven't made up my mind if to attend tonight or Sunday night. But I will be there so I can check out the Honda CBR250RR.

Can't wait!

I'm planning on going out there tonight after work just so I can meet Ben Spies. I hear shaking his hand adds 3.04 hp to any vehicles you ride thereafter

I kind of wanted to hit up some demo rides too, so I might go sometime during the weekend as well, but I'm not sure on that yet. The rain and my lack of not leather riding gear means I'll be caging it this year though >_<

I'm just messing guys.

Yeah, can't wait to sit on that Honda CBR250RR. A friend of mine test rode the bike and said it feels just as good as the Kawi 250. Interesting.

Can't blame Nemesis for trying, and I am sure us guys on the forum would be happy to help with any planning of what to wear.

Did you like the original? Regardless, I'll take a 6 out of 10... using the theory my students have, 60% is still passing lol.

Edit, I'm also a huge Daft Punk fan, so I can't wait.

Yes, I've seen the original back in the 80s. LOL! And I liked the original movie. I'm not saying this movie is all that bad...it explains a lot about the aftermath. I guess I was expecting more action and 3D.

Back on topic, I've decided to go Sunday. Will Ben Spies still be there on Sunday?

Nope. Sounds like Spies and Hayden are only there for today, which is the only reason I'm going in a few hours instead of Sunday when it's more convenient. I'll be sure to rub up on him enough to make up for everyone who can't make it tonight

Got to see the Honda CBR250R and man did I love the feel of it. The ergonomic felt perfect and the bike was much narrower than the Ninja250r. The bike felt a bit more aggressive than the Ninja250r which I loved. Although the bike felt a bit heavier but I think that's because I was comparing it to my race bike which is a lot lighter than the stock Ninja250r. The front looked much better in person than it did in the magazine. In fact, the headlight looked like a boomerang...that is until you bent down did it reveal that cyclops eye-like design.

Overall, I loved the design and the feel of the bike. I can't wait to get my hands on one and turn it into a race bike.

The convention itself sucked. With the lack of newly designed bikes there was nothing exciting about the show. Stayed about an hour or so and took off. Was it worth the $15 ticket + $10 parking? That's a big PHAT no.

Although, gad dang were there a lot of fine chicks there in black tights. Gosh how I love winter. LOL

Hubby and I were also there for about 2 hours max, and that's because we stopped watching the stunt guys outside the convention cemter. I did spend quite some time on the new Honda 250 as well and liked it.. We'll see what the reviews are when it does come out.
Overall disappointing show.. We left with a Progressive t-shirt and a bag, 2 free Suzuki keychains and a Honda cd.. Not much to see either.

You could have parked for free if you'd ridden your bike! I rode there all three days and had a good time.

On Friday, met Nicky at the Ducati booth, made a wry comment about not taking any crap from his "new" teammate. He liked that! Met Ben at the HJC and Yamaha booths. (Thank goodness that I checked online for schedules or else I wouldn't have known about the HJC option!) Spoke with Jason Britton before his show, watched with maybe fifty other people, awesome view! Crissy (my wife) drove into LA for the weekend, but got hung up in traffic, so she skipped the show on Friday.

On Saturday, we cruised through the show. Crissy likes the Honda 250 also. Spoke with Elena Myers and Melissa Paris for a while. (I almost didn't recognize Elena wearing normal street clothes.) Got an awesome deal on a Joe Rocket helmet. Visited with our friends at the ROK trailer in the parking lot.

Sunday, basically the same. Double-checked some info at a couple of spots. Spoke with Chris Ulrich and others at the Roadracing World magazine booth. Took off early to get back home to the desert. Fun ride!

My only let down for the weekend was the cancellation of the demo rides since the rain never really stopped all weekend. It did lighten up at times, but not enough. The only demo that I saw go out was for the CanAm tricycles on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday all of the demo gear was being put away before 10 am. Oh well, I guess I used up my quota last year.

Here are some pictures of show events, etc.:

The only thing high tech on there is the FI and the ABS option.

The cluster does look nice, but to me the bike just looks old. Lol I'm not sure why that is. It's cool it will come with ABS though.
