Grips--What's your favorite?

I've got stock grips on my pre-gen, they're not bad but I'd like a little bit softer grip, and maybe a thicker material so it's not such a small diameter. I see several folks who use pro-grips, but not a lot of feedback as to how they like them.

Are there other alternatives out there? The old beemers I tooled around with in my youth all had foam grips that I didn't mind, not sure how I'd like them on the 2fiddy though.

I'm hoping to find someone who absolutely crows about the grips they picked up on revzilla or whatever for some small amount of money.

Renthal is good...pro-grip too but the softer they are the faster they wear. I go through 2-3 sets a season, I especially wear the throttle side because I'm always keeping it pinned, even my glove is more worn in that area.

The ones I found wore the worst were the Motion Pro's, the Renthal Kevlar ones last a good while but I just can't bring myself to have cream coloured grips on a red bike.

I like pro grip 719's. They have a good squishiness to them but are also pretty durable.

I looked at your pic and kept thinking where the heck have I seen OURY before... I fixed up and flipped a mountain bike this spring that had OURY brand grips they were sweet!

You've used those for a while?

Is this the one? http://www.amazon.com/Oury-RGB-Black...=1416427902533 That's the only one I saw on Amazon indicating 'road' use (vs ATV or watersports). The price is definitely right at under $15 shipped!

I have used oury ever since getting clipons on my 250 (about 2yrs ago), they will be going on both my r6's as well. I used to use them on most cruisers until I went with really fat padded grips.

They wear pretty good too, 40+ track days and 26 or so races and still going strong. I am tempted to try them on the dirt bike but due to their softness, not sure they would hold up well to the forest's best.

What I really like about these grips is the "grippy" feeling they have when really warm from the summer sun. It's like they stick to your gloves with little effort muscle grip wise. For $15, it's worth a chance imho. If you don't like em, sell em to me.

Pic of oury grips on my bike. Pardon the twist, my fault for not installing it properly. But his pic is after 1yr usage, and it still looks pretty much the same. Now, please take for granted I am very, very light on the bars. So I aint saying yours will wear the exact same, but there have been others to ride my bike. Alex.s, my friend Ttam, Kevin and others. I share like that.

Semi-related question, did you remove the bar ends just for the grips or is there another reason behind that? Weight savings maybe?

Cheap foam grips from CycleGear. No more vibration at all, zero. Longest I've ridden in one day was 850 miles in 14:20, no issues with numbness, soreness, etc.

Why did I remove the bar ends..? I crashed and didn't feel like buying and installing new bar ends, simple as that.

Did it make a big difference? Not for me, but ymmv.
