New rider from KY
Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop in here and introduce myself. I live in eastern KY and have wanted a bike for a few years.
I finally got a bunch of overtime (60 hours a week!) and built up the finances to be able to own and operate a bike. Read up and felt like the 250r was a good choice and is a beautiful bike. Went to the dealer and they said they are selling like hotcakes but had a red one in stock. Perfect! So I bought it and have been learning to ride it. So far I have around 240 miles on it and learn and hone my techniques every mile I ride. Been lurking and reading and trying to find out all the information on my machine as I can and look forward to maintaining it to top notch shape. Seems like a lot of nice people on here and I appreciate all the knowledge that is being shared! A little about me, I have a diploma in CNC Machine Tool Technology, work in a machine shop making archery sights and scopes, play Xbox360 a bit, and drive my Datsun 280zx Turbo every now and then and now, ride my bike on the nice days. _-Mike P.S. [Picture] Before you say anything, I do have boots and a jacket and a full face helmet so yeah, I don't ride in that ;P I was just chillin in the garage haha |

No I have not yet, but I plan on doing it to get my license and to learn more and to get an insurance discount.
I know it doesn't really account to much, but I have been around bikes a bit. My mother has had a Rebel and a Harley 883 Sportster and most of my family members have had a bike at one point. They are all giving me tips heh |

Mike,
I've ridden bikes for pretty much 40 yrs and finally took the MSF course last year. I'll have to say, I learned a few things and would highly recommend any rider just starting out to take the course before they start riding. It's so hard to unlearn bad habits. Much better to learn the proper way from the start to help point you in the right direction in your riding career. Have fun, ride safe. |

Welcome Michael! Get signed up for the MSF and while you're waiting for it, pick up some riding pants to go with the rest of your gear
