Lurker, finally saying hello!

Hi there ladies!

I'm a new rider, my husband has a Katana 600, and we've been riding together for about 12 years. This year I decided to do what I've always wanted, and get my own bike. For my birthday last month my wonderful husband picked up Ninja 250. I'm a pretty little person, so that is MORE than enough for me. I've been lurking around reading posts here and on a few other forums, but I guess it's time to make myself known! Glad to be here!

I think you need to slap that generous husband around a little for letting you get out there on the range with sneakers!

If he doesn't want to sleep on the couch he ought to show up with some decent boots for you tout-de-suite!

he he he he! I don't think I've gone fast enough yet to cause trouble with sneaks. I have a self imposed 1 month parking lot practice period. I have a pair of boots, as soon as I'm road ready, they'll be on, I assure you

People have broken their ankles in zero mph drops in parking lots; it's why the MSF doesn't let you take their own parking lot course without at least over the ankle boots. Is it likely? Nope. Is it possible? Yep. May as well get comfortable now shifting and handling the bike with the boots you're going to be wearing on the road, right?

Hah. Wear them now. I'm not joking- it doesn't take road speeds to break things. I have a broken leg right now from dropping at low speeds WITH boots.
