Left - hand control assembly for track bike

I am turning my 08 250 in a track bike. Since I have recently purchased some fairings I am curious about what happens with the control assembly because it includes; headlight, blinker, horn, AND the choke. Is there some piece I have to buy to go in place of all that for my race fairings or does that just have to stay and not be used? HELP

Welcome Hadley!

You don't have to do anything with the left controls if you don't want to. All of those switches (except choke) can be simply unplugged and secured away as needed. Now... for fun, you might want to leave the horn hooked up. Tooting your whistle at a passing rider in the straight is kinda fun.

Not a good idea to have your horn hooked up. You need your left hand free to hit your buddy's kill switch as you pass him

I am going through the same process with my 09. I decided to eliminate the whole left hand cluster and just use some safety wire on the choke. After installing my Factory Pro jet kit, I haven't needed the choke to start the bike anyway!

Prevents pesky shenanigans of people hitting kill switch. I have re-routed the choke under the clip-on since:

Before you got deleting everything. What if.... you want to do the track day before race day? I have never seen a track day org that didn't require you to have a functional kill switch.

^ agreed, kill switches are a serious safety feature

I've even heard of orgs that want two, one on each side so that it can be hit regardless of the way the bike went down if the bike is still on

I added a dirt bike clutch perch with hot start lever for the choke lever. but I like the safety wire idea. \
