Stealership OR Normal?!?!

Have been eyeing a particular bike and I found the best price I have seen on CycleTrader at my local Dealership . I emailed them to verify the price was correct and asked for an "Out The Door Price." After a few emails back and forth, they finally gave me an OTD Price....is this NORMAL or are these people NUTZ???

$8900 - Quoted OTD Price
-@$625 - 7% GA Tax
-------------------------------
$8275
-$7400 - Advertised Price on CycleTrader
-------------------------------
?? $875 ?? In fees!!!???!!!???

$875 in FEES???? Really???

what is the bike? I wouldn't pay that much for a ninja300 even if it is a leftover

A lot of places put bikes on cycle trader at really low "list" prices just to get people to call, look at website or in the door. IF they have the bike listed $500 cheaper than anyone else then it is most likely just a ploy to get people in the door ect... get someone dumb enough to fill out paper work with out asking questions and then they add on "fees" to make up the difference from there original bullshit "list" price.

in short, selling tactic

if their end price is around what everyone else is selling the bike for then they are not really a stealership

A guy on another forum saw a 2013 model listed for $3,850. The OTD price was close to $7,000 so you made out better than he did. He should have gotten the OTD price up front!

if you find the right dealer at the right time, you can take the bike with almost no "bullshit" fees.

buy in winter. sell in spring.

People obey this so strictly here that I've seen way more good deals this spring than last winter.

Here in norcal, people still winterize their bike anyway just because of a little drizzle.

Thanks for the replies and comments. No it wasn't a 300 (already have one of those). Yeah, I asked the guy why $900 in fees and he told me it was a crate fee. He told me this whole long story that the bikes come in crates and that the dealer has to uncrate them and get them ready to sale. I asked the guy if I could just buy the bike in the crate (jokingly but seriously of course just to see what he would say) and he laughed and said "we cant sell you the bike in a crate." So I laughed and said well I cant buy a bike with $900 in fees and left! Hahahaha!

PS.....Found another dealer a little further away who didnt charge all the fees. Advertised price was higher but OTD price MUCH lower. We shall now see if I pull the trigger.
