What's your ninjette wrench level?

My second attempt at making a poll. Here are your options:

I bored out the cylinders, dampened the engine vibration, optimized the suspension setup and modified a Nissin ABS system to work with the little ninja... and I'm still not happy. Can't complain though: Kawasaki bought my improved design and re-badged the bike as a Ninja 300. (Level 4: The Engineer)

I've held my engine in my arms, pistons in my hands and use discarded motorcycle parts as my cutlery. (Level 3: The Mechanic)

I'll research, buy and install farkles, performance parts, and customisations… stock ninjette… no way! I'm 2 fast and 2 furious to leave it like that. (Level 2: The Modder)

I do chain maintenance, tyre pressure, cleaning and replacement bulbs. OH! I peeked under the fairings once too. (Level 1: The Loving Owner)

I occasionally bring my butler tea while he's taking care of Betsy (My Ninjette). I don't care to know what the chap does in that garage so long as he doesn't make to much vulgar noise. (Level 0: The Outsourcer)

I chisel away rust when the wheels don't turn so good no more and I make sure to park outside so the rain takes care of the mud. (Level -1: The Abuser)

Perhaps @kbryant and @Racer x are worthy of level 4?

you forgot level 4:
"Motorcycle Owner's Manual is only OEM's opinion." AKA "I can make a better crank than this"

Level 2!! I've taken the head off and had the hard work (boring and tapping) outsourced. Does that count?

That's for you to decide, but from my perspective you're still 2 fast and 2 furious and not quite level 3. You can always change your vote in the future when you level up!

I'm new to the motocycle part of the house as far as wrenching goes. Definitely not afraid to dive under the hood of my car. Used to race so I've done all sorts of engine work. I've installed some farkles for mine and the wife's bike. Did the oil changes. Adjusted the gear shifters. Not afraid of mechanical stuff. My thought is at least try it once maybe twice. If you break it, yeah it can get expensive, but who knows you may learn something and actually fix it. And you can take it in with your tail between your legs and ask for help if you do manage to break it. ;-)

So...2.3 maybe?

changing tires is easy though... why pay $20/tire when you can do it yourself for free!

I'm somewhere between 1 and 2..probably closer to 1. I tend not to do major things since I just don't have the space to do them. My apartment does not allow repair work lol

Level 1.

Level 2 if you do the more difficult maintenance and you've also modified your bike.

Sooooo if I get Kawasaki to buy my patent for the Yamasaki front brake and wheel system I can upgrade myself to level 4 right

My ideas are level 4 but my limited equipment and execution make me a level 3 I believe.

If you do all your own repairs and maintenance (level 3) and you also design and fabricate your own improved parts then you're a level 4.

I think I'm floating around the Level 2. Tinkering with the engine and guts of my girl is beyond me at the moment in knowledge and tools. But maybe down the road....

Text says there's a level 4 but no poll option? Huh?

I voted level 3 because I'm not afraid to take things apart. In reality I'd say I'm more 2.7 or so because I avoid unecessary work. So no, I've not held my engine in my arms, but that's only because it's a PITA to get the thing out and put back in again.

I have taken the carbs out and rejetted. This coming year I'll do the valve shim thing...

You don't know how to change tyres though! Imagine you were a mechanic for a shop - anything someone has wrong with their bike you'd be expected to fix even if it meant stripping a bike down to nothing and rebuilding it. Can you do that? If so you're level 3. I'm very far from level 3

It's just silly though; you don't get to put your level on your CV

Ok - you're either a level 2.9 or a 3! Impressive stuff! You should decide if you get to level up yet or not. Maybe you need just 3 more experience points!

Oh - maybe CV is a UK word. It stands for Curriculum Vitae. It's a document you give to someone who you want to hire you as an employee. It would list personal info, past experience and qualifications.

Not quite. Resumes are simple snapshots of your history. CVs are longer and more detailed. You'll usually see employers asking for CVs in academic, medical, scientific, etc fields.

Yeah first to re-vote for level 4

Just installed the final piece to my front brake project the custom orange and black brake line. Handed the bike over to @CycleCam303 to get his opinion of it and he starts by busting out stoppie with zero effort, Givi tail box and all.

Mission Accomplished

Hell yeah! You deserve to be happy. It just makes me smile that's all.

Trust me, once I get this whole fuel map and warm-up fuel figured out, I'll be just as stoked as you. I probably will have spent just as much time on it as well.
