this sounds really dumb...
but i when to removed the ignition key the other day... and off popped my keychain... fell straight down... and never hit the pavement. I've been feeling up the inside of my fairings for 2 days.... it's totally MIA! where the heck could it be hiding!?

Ok I'm embarrassed to admit this but, I do this ALL the time... it generally get stuck at the top of the radiator for me. I generally drop my key which maybe a bit larger but in general if you turn the bars all the way to one side and think skinny thoughts your fingers will go far enough down to just catch them. If you have ridden the bike with it there the vibration has probably worked it down further or out.

and it's a cutesy plastic anime girl keychain to boot.
I have been thinking of putting flush turn signals in... so fairings coming off... just not so soon. didn't ride it since it fell... i'm petrified of a melted plastic mess. |

yep, taking the fairings off is such a PITA, but I've found, the more times you do it, the easier it gets as you learn a few new things about how to get things back together perfectly every time you work on it.
