Does TN have open carry? It seems like concealing a gun inside my gear would be a recipe for either extra broken bones, or an ND if I ever crashed.

Maybe you could try raising your visor? If I worked in that sort of job, a person coming in with tinted visor without the firearm (or any other dress that prevents their face from being seen) would have me with one hand on the panic button and the other on my own sidearm.

As a CCW holder, I'd call this irresponsible.

Don't be surprised if next time you wind up with your face on the pavement and a cop pointing a gun at your head. The people around you don't know you're a good guy and covering your face doesn't exactly help. You could be a perp or a nut job -- how can they tell? It's up to you to not come across as either, and the fact is that the worst will (justifiably) be assumed. That's the reality. Live with it and act accordingly.

I have no problem with carrying a weapon legally... but if you do, be ready to accept the consequences of your decision.

The smart move is to not open carry. Behave appropriately in public. I mean, you don't walk around with your d**k hanging out, right? Keep it on the down low.

I'm a gun guy. I got yelled at once for walking into a gas station with helmet on to take a leak after pumping and paying for gas at the pump. Given that situation, I can't fathom adding open carry to that... wow.... I hate to say this, but that wasn't the brightest thing to do. You probably gave that poor clerk a stroke.

Most gas stations have pay at the pump so your open carry wouldn't seem to be a problem... but if you frequent the gas station and have to go in to pay, I guess it'd be better to either get to know the clerks and let them know you're an OK guy to the point they recognize you and won't worry.

Georgia has open carry and a cop friend told me he usually gets one or two calls a year from someone at the local walmart who saw a guy with a gun on his hip and the cop has to explain that's legal.

Not "cool" but made me laugh...

Yesterday I went to pick up my weekly farm share at the CSA drop-off. It only takes a couple of minutes to transfer from the box to my backpack so I don't bother taking off any of my gear. Full leathers, boots, evil-looking gauntlets, helmet, the lot.

A little girl of about 6 or 7 looks up at me and says "Are you a pizza delivery guy?"

Is the bag magnetic or strap mount? I hope the latter because if you do crash that magnetic bag isn't going to stay with the bike.

Which kind of misses the point of carrying a gun for personal protection.

hard to conceal a xdm 40 with a paddle holster and a leather jacket that fits, i also do security for a living.i understand your view but i would rather answer a few questions on my belly then asked a few on my back. im not going to go out of my way to make my firearm hard to reach just so i dont scare a soccer mom.

a smart solution would be to get one of these

but im not sure if its too douchebagy

lol yeah, i was going to be a cop, after all the hoops they let me know that getting ran over by a car in 06 and the back problems that followed made me a health risk... that was the biggest reason not to get a silly badge.

it can be hard to CC in the summer time, open carry can be troublesome in places where the people are not used to it.

i've open carried for 10 yrs here, with no issues.

Not something cool, but funny to me. So I was on my way to my cousins to drop something off and her roommate was outside. I got off my bike and went around back and the roommate was turned around. I said, "Hey!" and she turned around, flew her hands in the air and screamed at the top of her lungs for a good 5 seconds. Stupid me forgot to take my helmet off

I effing wish I had my gopro with me

My uncle came over years ago and he didn't take his helmet off before he came into the house. Well the Lab mix we had at the time didn't like that. Had him backed into the laundry room until my mom came in and he took the helmet off.

Needles to say he ALWAYS took the helmet off outside from then on.

little kids wave at me a lot. I love it.

One little guy walked in front of me with his mom (crosswalk) and he waved at me. I waved and said "whats up dude?" and that **** made his day. He was telling his mom how I talked to him all the way across the crosswalk...

Move to Arizona no knife laws and no need for a permit to carry a gun open or not.

Rather funny than the coolest thing, but I got called "spaceman". Creepy rather than coolest is when I was taking trip to a town some 50 miles away the sheriff was following me all the way to the county line. Also, today in a parking lot I was passing through a whole family waved to me - dad, mom, and their little kid of maybe two or three years - I waved back.

I love pulling up to school buses! Being a teacher, it's even better when the next day my elementary students are all excited to tell me they saw me on the bike.
