My Second time posting in here!

So I have a deal in the works and I am trading up to a new bike. It's still crated and about 180 miles away. Around March first I'm going to go pick up my 2014 Zx6r. Can't wait to get some pictures and sit on the thing. Now I Just have to wait until April/May for the snow to disappear and the roads to be cleaned.

Not my picture but here is a good shot of the 2014

Canadians get this for 2014 as well

Well, my name will be on the sold sign next week and I am more then likely staying with a green machine. So I am a little more then excited, doesn't help that it will be the first 2014 built in my province and it has my name on it. Also more great news, might be adopting a Husky mix puppy that someone took to put down. Only three months old.

So the lower fairing on the 2014 went from green to black. I didn't notice that before.

That orange just looks though I wish the bottom fairing was still the secondary color instead of being black now. If only the insurance and owning a bike like that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg :/ oh well I'll live and get one second hand as a track bike in a few years hahaha

Insurance for me is about $170 a month. I had a shot at a 2013 zx6r but I prefer the black bottom fairing in comparison, plus a lot of people are talking about the 2013's having some faults with steering and the ECU not working so well on cold starts.

yea exactly, that would likely be higher for me. A large reason I ride is because it saves me money in comparison to a car, even when I have a car on my plan hahaha. I'm paying $89/month for my 300 and I more than cover that with the gas savings even though I could drop it to ~$3-500/year and get similar coverage.

It's suprising to hear that your insurance costs so much compared to here. Saskatchewan has some pretty terrible MC insurance costs. Even went through a giant issue where they were going to raise the price of 250cc insurance 350%. The insurance company here doesn't understand the difference in bikes just the CC amount. So my 636 in their eyes is safer and less to insure then my 650.

my coverage more than justifies the cost. I have well over $1mil in liability and underinsured, to switch down to the 3-500/yr coverage would cut it in half. While that may make more sense financially I like knowing that my coverage is so ridiculously high that I could replace my heart if need be.

that orange is cool. glad we don't have it in the USA, as it would have been a tough pick between it and green.

I think the 2009 or 2010 ZX10 came in a burnt orange. Looks good on some GSXR too, and the year they had it on the R6.

The sold sign went up on the Zx6r crate today. Now I just have to wait patiently until my transport gets back from Mexico.

Well it's home, but I have someone who wants to ride it as bad as I do.

The Tech in the shop helped me out a lot by selling me something that anyone who transports a bike in vehicle should really look into getting one of these.

Congrats - I'll probably bring mine home Saturday. Just ordered some GBRacing case covers and Sato frame sliders. Going to put the OEM tank pad on too, but not sure about the side pads yet.

I'm not sure about the side pads because shipping to Canada is $30 and the grips are $50. I seriously have started this bike 20 times and every time I have a grin on my face. I could sit on it and tinker all day! Can't wait for the streets to clear off. OH and also if you use rear spools for your stand the Zx6r is 8mm, both the 250 and 650 were 10mm so I have to find some new ones.

A guy told me he has been riding his bike in his heated underground parking at his condo, round and round in slow circles.

We strapped my 650 with regular ratchet straps around the handlebars and I began to question how I was going to load the zx6r since it has clip ons and no bar. The Mechanic in the shop was super helpful and sold me on of these straps. It equally balances the load across the bike and made it super easy to compress the forks down. It was solid, it didn't wiggle it vibrated a bit but that was all. I was thoroughly impressed and would recommend to anyone moving a motorcycle or even a snowmobile.

I put on about 30ish miles (Canadian guesstimate) anyways I found the 636 to have a smooth delivery in town as long as you were light on the throttle a single blip in second gear and it turned 30mph to 50mph. I took it out on the highway, slightly regret the frozen body parts during this. That speed is where this bike belongs it made everything I have ever been in/on seem so slow. The gearbox on these bikes are also incredibly smooth. Had to double check that it actually went down to first from neutral. I just can't get over how this thing made me feel. Wanting one of these bikes as a kid I didn't ever actually think I would have one somewhere down the line.
