It does look significantly taller, I am curious on how much better it controls the airflow to the rider. Post up after you've tried it out for awhile!

I like it.
Is that a light or dark smoke? |

It is light smoke. The pictures make it look darker than it really is because of the flash.

Won't be for at least a week. I leave for TX tomorrow morning and won't be back until Monday night, but I think it is supposed to be nice on next Tuesday (nice means not raining or snowing and in the low 40s, not exactly nice by your standards)

Finally was able to get out and ride yesterday. It was a warm and sunny 42 degrees.
Sitting fully upright with the stock screen the wind hit me just below the top of my shoulders. With the ZG screen it hit me about mid visor level. (I am 5'10"). I didn't notice any real increase in buffeting, but it made for a warmer ride as the wind wasn't hitting my chest and blowing up into my helmet. I also imagine it would be less tiring over a long ride, but will probably have to wait til spring for that. The height of the screen also allowed me to tuck just a little bit and be completely out of the wind. This was way more comfortable than with the stock screen, which I was never really able to get completely out of. The only downside I saw to the screen is that the gauges reflect in it (as you can see in the last picture). This isn't a huge problem, but a bit distracting at first. I guess it is sort of like upside down Heads Up Display |

hmmm, about the gauge reflections in the windshield... curious what they would look like at night. Would it be enough to be a distraction?

What Kelly? I was expecting you to figure out how to rotate the guages so that you could use it HUD style!

It kind of caught me off guard at first, but you kind of get used to it. I would see it as being more of a problem if you are tucked down pretty far. In an upright position it is well below your field of view. Even when tucked down just far enough to be totally out of the wind it is still below where you should be looking.

The dark smoke probably would make that gauge reflection a bit more annoying.

I also had the pleasure of riding in the rain last night, and with a little tuck was able to stay almost completely dry (at least while moving). Yes I think it would. I kind of wish I would have just gotten the clear. I was thinking light smoke would be lighter than what it is. |

I have been thinking about the DB. I like the styling of it mostly, but I am getting cold, so hopefully it improves wind management significantly enough. If I end up getting it for Christmas I'll post a review too so we can compare the two styles.

Camaro, Thanks for the heads up on the Zero Gravity windscreen. I am definitely considering going that route. There is another company called Laminarlip.com that makes a windscreen for our bikes as well. Their screen attaches over the stock windscreen using some sort of industrial stregth hook and loop system. Their windscreen is quite a bit more expensive. I will try to find some actual tests on this product. In the meantime the ZG windscreen is still in the offing.

Cling, That is a geat idea! It may be possible to make a case for it and somehow stow it behind the stock windscreen. That`s what I like about this forum--all this sharing of ideas. By the time we get done with our bikes, even Kawasaki won`t recognize them.
