pocono area ride

i did some riding in the poconos this weekend. i thought the following roads were nice:

(1) 519 & 521 going up thru jersey. i switched to 521 at the town of hope.

(2) 507 along the south side of lake wallenpaupack.

(3) 191 from east stroudsburg to bethlehem, esp the upper part where it winds over the mountain.

also, going up, 521 joins 206. a couple miles after this you can turn left on 560 which takes you to the dingmans ferry bridge, an old wood-decked private toll bridge ($1). then you can either take 739 all the way up to 6, or turn left on silver lake road (twisty but bumpy) to get to 402.

note that 209 between dingmans ferry & milford is currently closed.

those mountains are nice to ride through. Some of the roads are less than perfect but most are decent enough for a good pace.
