It seems all the elbow dragging videos are R1s. Are they the only one of the big 4 that can lean this much or is it that the most skilled riders that can handle that lean just seem to ride the R1?

This makes me think of my first ride with my brother, we approached a turn that was much tighter than I thought. I remember I realized it was too late to slow any, and I looked up and the speed limit for the turn was 15, I looked down and I was doing ~55, so I did what my MSF instructor taught me; push, lean, and pray I was dragging my left peg hard on the ground and I barely made the turn. He rides a thunderace (the predecessor to the R1) and he took the turn with ease. I've taken it for a few rides, its nimble, but too heavy for my tastes.

98-03 had side exhaust. It wasn't until 2004 that the R1 got an under tail exhaust.

we know. we like the undertail better on the new ones. That's why the side exhausts ruin it. Not every bike has a dual undertail stock

There's a video on Youtube where a guy drags his helmet, posted here a while ago... I freak out at a 15* angle.

Love that track so much, that bowl is amazing

I would be more impressed if he did that on the track. I dont think I could ever push it that hard in the streets after riding on slicks last weekend, makes my bt-016's feel like ****. I would love to post up at the top with a genny, slicks and some tire warmers lol

Same here. While I admire the skill, there's a time and a place for everything.

Yeah!! There going to be good for another 4-6 track days easy, there barely worn lol And I run warmers so the amount of heat cycleing is much less then a normal tire without warmers

Not all slicks are only meant for one track day, pirelli has done an amazing job with these new slick, they have been tested at over 400 track miles on a AMA pro riders bike

I WISH!! I'm at school though, and I got plans here this summer.

As I already told Trailerboy-whatever-the-hell-Max's-username-is, I'll be looking for an internship summer of 2013. Guess which coast I'll be looking at??

Those tires on that R1 looked completely bald. I couldn't see any tread. It's a wonder he didn't crash.
