Rad Cap - Same as Honda Civic?

I took my rad to get cleaned out today, while at the rad shop I was asking about rad caps. I know we use a 1.1, so the guy said I could use a Honda Civic cap since its the same one. Size looks like it is the exact same.

Anyone know?

Shop wanted $40 for the OEM or $10 at Canadian Tire for the civic, and much easier to find.

If you got the $$$ to try it out, then I see no problem as long as it holds a seal and vents as needed.

Try it and let us know if it works.

Doesn't sound like the exact same part number, but we found that there are common, cheap automotive radiator caps and thermostats that fit the 500. http://www.ex-500.com/wiki/index.php...=Non-OEM_Parts There could definitely be similar options for the 250. Just make sure the specs are the same and you should be fine.
