air filter

just fitted a k & n air filter to help the little ninja breath more easily as iv got a full race system , bit of an improvement in 4th & 5th gear . top speed still 105mph so no change..
overall the bike accelerates better and smoother to red line

my bike is 100% stock. i also have a k & n air filter too.

how was the fittment of your K&N?

how does the 3 bolts tighten up with the cover once you get the K&N pushed in all the way? tight as hell? kinda oddly? it doesnt seem that the cover can 100% fully "SEAL" up correctly with the K&N air filter vs the stock foam element.

mine was that way.

Did you re-jet after installing the filter? The bike will be getting more air (a little) so may need a little more fuel to balance that.

Is that 105mph at redline?

Well, with my Pipercross... I had to be carefull so the air filter gets all in...maybe you are leaving some of the air filter out? it should be a tight fit.

If yours is really FI, you should have a red FI light in the dash. If it is....I advise you to:

1 -Remove the snorkel;
2 - NGK IRIDIUM spark plugs - model CR8EIX
3 - Do the zip tie mod -The easyest of them and you will REALLY notice the difference.

13k rpm with 14/45 gearing = 105.5mph. so 105 is about the max your gonna hit on stock gearing .

If you are able to red-line 6th gear, then the only ways to get more speed are to raise the rev-limiter or go with taller gearing. Once the bike bounces off the rev-limiter, it won't go any faster
