You know. Ive been riding for 15 years or so. Ive ridden a lot of different bikes, and owned quite a few too. The 250R is my absolute favorite bike out of all of them that Ive ever been on. Ive knocked off thousands of miles on two wheels. Ive ridden in snow, rain, sleet, even in hurricanes. My bike doesnt spend more than a day not being on the road. I do all my own maintanance, none of my bikes have ever been in a shop. I dont own anything with more than two wheels. I ride motorcycles exclusively. Ive been on a track multiple times, and held my own.

There are tards everywhere that dont have a clue what real riding is all about. And that guy is one of them.

So if he wants to say that Im not a real biker, or that my bike isnt a real bike....I dont care. He's an idiot. I know better, and so do my fellow riding buddies both here online, and on the road with me.

There are people like that all over the place, my advice. Dont feed the troll.
You cant fix stupid.

I have no idea what that means -.- and I'm only joking guys, c'mon.

My gym teacher gives me heck about riding a 250, he's a true all american, handlebar mustache wearin wrestler. But I know that it's more than enough bike for me and I really don't care what other misinformed people think

Basically Lowered the gearing giving faster acceleration and increased torque, in sacrifice of top speed. So my Pontiac Trans Am would only do about 130 MPH.

(I was being sarcastic too)

Any idiot can take a 1000cc bike to triple digit speeds in a straight line...top speed isnt what motorcycling is all about, and thats why engine size doesnt make you a biker.

Well Put b.... not too mention the insurance costs for a piece of machinery that you'll rarely put to full use on a public road. And who wants to ride through town in first gear , I like to shift dammit!

I could not possibly agree with you more. What I generally find so funny about these motorcycle "experts" is that most of them don't ride at all. At least that's been my experience. I imagine if any of us put any of them on a 250 and told them to keep up on our favorite backroads, we'd lose them within two turns. Did I forget to mention the part where we would be on 125cc scooters?

Wow... Just read it. I'm no expert by any means but I'm glad I take advice from everybody here instead of them. There's also a comment about not taking it on the freeway cuz they'd get blown off on a 250cc... I dont have a comparison but I dont think its anywhere near a featherweight. Plus, gear shifting is half the fun. =/

I have been around bikes a very long time. In all honesty, I know few people who can ride a 250R to its full potential---and that includes me. It is definitely a learner bike---the more you ride it, the more you need to learn.

I would rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.

Any fool can go fast in a straight line - taking a high speed turn takes skill, regardless of the bike size.

JG, That's for sure! I do believe that 250R riders are better riders who enjoy their bikes rather than trying to impress others with horsepower and top speed specs.

This is the problem with how bike's are reviewed and cars even, where it is all about 0-60 and top speeds. The ninja 250r has never gotten a true in depth review outside of beginner bike picks etc.. Nothing like what the liter bikes get.

This goes back to people not considering the 250r as a true sport bike, because they compare to 600cc SS bikes. Take the 250r back to 1960's and 70's they would have called it revolutionary. I consider it a modern version of the old 250 racebikes.

Kenneth, Look at your Cycle Magazines. The only 250 bikes they review are off road bikes. They occasionally do a review of a 650 Dual Sport. During the gas crunch a couple of years ago they all thought that the Ninja 250 was the best thing since sliced bread. As soon as the gas prices dropped, there were a whole bunch of used Ninjas on the market. Unless you are going on long tours--like across the US, you really don't need anything bigger or faster. Actually, a properly set up Ninja would be more than capable for long distance touring. The current 250 Ninja is faster than my 1972 Norton 750 Cafe Racer was. It is faster than the current Royal Enfield Bullet 500, and faster than any current production 250. I mean, really, the bike can break any speed limit in the US. I don't get it.
