Looking for 250 Storage
Hey guys, anyone have bags they recommend for a ninja 250? Doesn't matter what style (saddle, tail, tank etc), but has anyone found a bag set that's worth checking out?
I realize that a motorcycle isn't going to be very secure but I need some way to store my gloves and other oddities I may bring on my trip, without having to worry about someone walking over and taking them. I have backpacks but I can't always wear one into places I go. Thanks for the help. |

I've been using this little tank bag for the essentials (gloves, lock, wallet, phone, keys, map) and it works well. Tough I don't know if mine has the "hideaway backpack straps".

For quick trips or around town I've been using a Rapid Transit Recon 19
Magnetic tank bag & converts to a backpack pretty quick. Also holds a hydration bladder, which I really love despite I had to buy it separately. Longer trips I use the Bags Connection tail bag Had it just over a year and no complaints. It's not hard luggage though, so a knife will open it (or cut through the mounting straps) if someone's really interested in the contents

I commute on my bike and have to carry a 15" laptop from time to time. Very few tank bags can do that and I really dislike backpacks because they inhibit airflow through my jacket. My tank bag (the Axio hardshell bag) does carry the laptop, but it's darned tight. The larger version of this thing could easily accommodate it plus anything else I might want to carry to/from work. I checked out the instruction PDF and it also looks like it's easy-on, easy-off. It attaches to a mounting pad that you strap to your pax seat. The pad has a Velcro surface and three straps with Fastex buckles that you pre-adjust and leave in place. Plunk the bag onto the pad, snap the three buckles and awaaay you go. |

My wife needed a small bag to carry her hand purse (barely larger than her cell phone) and a pair of glasses or gloves. I came up with a pretty neat little "pouch" that I installed inside the right fairing, just below the right handlebar.
I made it from black denier nylon which has a plastic-like lining. I made a flap style closure, so its not totally secure but nothing ever falls out. Its water resistant, but not waterproof simply because of the lack of a solid closure. I wanted it to be a one hand operation to put things in and take things out. Even though its very close to the radiator cap, it shows no signs of heat damage after a few months of use. I can try to take a pic of it- but its nearly out of site. Nobody ever notices its even there until they see her reach inside. |

I have the Tunnel Tail Bag. It's the smaller size, which fits like it was made for the 250. I think the bigger one just wouldn't fit properly. Anyhow, I can carry a lot of stuff - shoes, snacks, couple of bottles of water, hat, headphones, etc. Here are a few pics:

Thanks for those pics... I contacted Saddlemen CS and they said a laptop won't fit in the small bag.
Just as a point of reference, the larger bag has a tunnel 12" wide... and the widest part of the Ninjette tail is wider than that. |
