Wheel Size

Anyone know if pre-gen 250r wheels will install onto current gens?

pre-gen = 16" and new gen = 17"

Not sure if you can put the newgen rims/tires onto a pregen?!?

that i didnt know, i had found a really cheap set and my front was bent so i was wonder if it would work

dont really see a disadvantage to dropping the rim size....

im more experienced in the car world and really going down a size can be beneficial as you get more usable side wall for roll over...i would assume that would hold true in the motorcycle world

maybe i will go out and measure the bores and see if all the bolts will pass through them

I know there are a lot more tire options for 17" rims, then for 16" rims...hopefully someone who knows for sure will pipe in

Bite the bullet, aside from the disadvantage of having to hound your preference of tires on a 16" rim, the disc allocation on the new gen forks calls for the bigger wheel, the hubs are different and designed for ech gen and therefore not interchangeable.
