Question Going from 1st to 2nd I hit neutral??

This does not happen often but it will every few days, usually when i'm racing from light to light going up to redline and shifting. Basically I hit neutral and the rev limiter goes off because i'm doing WOT from 1st to 2nd. Then I just try agian and it it goes into 2nd with no problem. Am I just not kicking it up hard enough or what could it be? This is my first motorcycle and i'm not an expert in this field.

Just shift harder! Same thing happens to me. If you switch to GP that may help, because you are pushing down to shift up

Link to original page on YouTube.

at 0:44 you can watch me epicly shift into neutral lol

Welcome to the board and riding Alex. I'd try slowing things down and practice being smooth with all your control inputs. I find that I will get neutral if I rush my shifts and am heavy on the clutch and shifter.

It is a blast to shift through the gears to red-line (we all have done it) but be careful on the street if you run up your speed. Things happen fast when you are learning. Don't override your skills.

Yep, been there.
Get smooth with the shifting before redline shifting. Practice what my instructor called shifting with purpose, never fast and sloppy. Redline shifting is handy if you need to get out of the way of a charging buffalo but in regular riding, practice shifting smoothly until it looks like you're riding an automatic transmission. Once it's that smooth, work on making it faster.

Jerky movements will make you look newbie and as I am still somewhat newbie, I prefer to look like Rossi, smooooooooth.

And don't stress out about it, you'll be learning new things and perfecting your riding skills every day of your life - enjoy it!
