For valentines my gf took me kart racing! She's done this a few times and I've never done it before. I figured I'd have an advantage since I've been to the track with my 2fiddy but boy was I wrong. It's really really different. It feels so unnatural turning hard on 4 wheels. I wasn't sure how hard I could push it in the corners without the kart slipping. For my first time I guess I did ok

It was rather difficult to control the karts. The "gas" only seems to engage fully at the very end of the pedal. I couldn't find a moderate acceleration on it, I was always either slowing down or accelerating fully. I started to get the hang of it about halfway through my laps. I also kept 'stalling' the kart. In order to use the brake you have to completely release the 'gas' which sometimes I found difficult because if it wasn't accelerating I felt like I was off the 'gas' but then the kart would shut down because I used gas and brake.

I got passed ALOT. By nearly everyone accept my gf and some other bimbo. It was a lot of fun though rather expensive for what you get. It was $20 for about 7 minutes on the track, kinda nice if you only do it once but if you want to go a few times it gets rather expensive with not so much payoff, trackdays are a better way to spend your money

After going karting I'd recommend people to try that if they are unsure whether they want to go to the track. Tracking a bike is a lot more fun but there is similarities with karting. You for sure get a nice adrenaline rush doing it and getting passed and riding aggressively around the track is similar. Watching the video, god I was going so slow, but it feels alot faster while you are doing it.

Super fun, would go again.

Aside from the go-kart tracks that are larger CCs and require a driver's license...the key is to just hold down the gas pedal the whole time and hope you didn't get the crappy go-kart.

I HATE when I get the crappy kart!

Karting is fun, the things virtually never flip so I just gun it the whole time and kick out the back a little, the ones here are pretty underpowered also so it's a little lame.

I think on some of those turns you gotta brake first

but yea if I had some more practice I'd probably end up gunning it most of the time. It's weird being so low to the ground

I felt like that kart was just gna slip and lose traction and spin me into a wall. It's so different from the track. The floor looks slippery too, like a garage floor but I guess it works

Good lord you're slow. That was painful to watch. Hold some speed through those corners. Braking rules like don't brake while turning still apply. Accelerate through turns, if your rear tires aren't losing traction on the exit, you're not doing it right.
