What is this called?
I don't have my manual yet, but what is that cover called on the swing arm that has the bolt and two nuts that is used to adjust the alignment of the rear wheel? Hopefully I described that right.
Apparently, mine came off sometime in the past week. I only noticed this morning before my ride to work this morning. Gotta call my dealership to get that part, hopefully it's not one of those stupidly priced small parts. Thanks in advance.

Part 11012? It's a Cap, Chain Adjuster, Bl. You're looking at a bit over $20 from RonAyers, or slightly more from the dealer.
Sounds like the nuts weren't tightened against each other, and when the rear one vibrated loose, everything else went with it. As long as the axle bolt and nut are tightened down well, you should 'technically' still be okay to ride it, but it's not something I'd do. Probably better to park it until the parts come in.

I got both sides on eBay for $10 with free shipping. Don't be afraid to check eBay for these things. For this particular item you'd search "Ninja 250 chain adjuster"

Two valuable lessons learned today: 1) When at a red light, stop singing at the top of your lungs with the visor cracked open. 2) Check eBay for parts. thanks, it's been a productive day.

Whenever you need new parts ask yourself this question "Does it need to be new?"
Yes - Go to a parts dealer No - eBay and Craigslist

I think you've got that wrong. When at a red light, make sure to check for nearby cars that will notice your singing. If spotted, begin drum solo and/or air guitar accompaniment.
