North Eastern Ohio Riders

To all the ninja 250 riders out here in north eastern ohio, I think it would be really cool to get a day we could all meet up and go on a ride. I am still pretty new here but would really like to get to know everyone a little better. I just purchased a new 2012 ninja 250 to replace my now junked 1993 ex250, and have already put a thousand miles on it.

Anybody that has any ideas for a route, go ahead and throw them out here, Im located in what is basically Youngstown, Ohio. Im fine with having to ride a little ways to meet up but i dont want to have to ride more than 2 hours to a meetup spot. Any suggestions?? Lets do this!

Yeah, that's going to be a looooong day. They route for that ride starts in Columbus and takes some backroads down to Athens and then around the hills. Should be a fun ride, but it will be long.

That's why Brett and I are planning on taking back roads down. Slab gets boring fast on a motorcycle.

Well, Brett's on a GSXR, but he's a smart rider. So it's all good.

Ha and Tyler for our eastern Ohio rides you could easily meet up with us in about 20 or so minutes, and we're looking (or at least I am and Chris has no choice) to expand the riding into PA once I get a few routes compiled. As for the highway I refuse to do much highway unless it's the end of the day and I'm beat, but even then 30-45 mins is enough boredom for me. And I won't leave you behind if I lead, I know everyone has a different pace and I don't want you out of your comfort zone especially in unfamiliar areas. If you're going a little slower I'll slow down on the straights for you. Hell last year my pace was slow and I felt like I held Chris up but now I'm comfortable with this bike so it's a tad faster, but it's not mach retard fast.

Nah, I only rode up your butt on 2 turns, and that was my fault for coming in too close behind you.

Tyler, don't worry about all this talk of pushing people or rushing. We will go whatever pace makes people comfortable and allows us to take in the scenery. I for one do not want to be part of a ride where myself or others go down, because that would ruin our day big time. If you like noob pace, then we will go noob pace and help you with pointers based on what we see from your riding.

But for now, I'm cap'n slow because I've been on a grand total of 2 rides since I got back from school...

Lol I'm pretty good on my bike i had my other ninja for a year before this one, and had dirtbikes as a kid. I'm really comfortable on it, not going to lie though i might still be slightly noobish haha. There is always room for improvement though but yeah highway sucks. I'm down for riding into pa as long as I'm not alone.

Not yet. Brett and I have still been looking at roads. We took another ride on Saturday down to the Stuebenville area. Nice loping hills and curves.

A PA ride will be an all day ride starting at probably 8:00 and getting home around 3-4? The good roads are around and south of Wheeling so it'd actually be an OH/WV/PA ride. If the weather holds this weekend I'm heading back out (Chris may be going, too?) to SE OH or into the edge of PA/WV. Of course, plans are subject to change without much notice ha. We went from not being sure if we'd ride at all to saying F it lets just ride 250 miles and hope the rain holds out in the span of about 20 mins ha.

Meet up at Lake Erie Loop Cannonball Race

I am the record holder for the 50cc Moped Class on the Lake Erie Loop. June 8th will be 10 year anniversary of loop. I am providing ride support for my friend who is running his 1972 Yamaha RD 125. I'll be using my 2007 250 Ninja.

Lake Erie Loop is pediatric firefighters fund raising money through the charity Aluminum Cans for Burned Children. It's a race and there are classes. Nothing bigger than 200cc.

My moped did the 677 miles in 24 hours and 3 minutes. I expect kevins RD 125 to do it in 10 hours.

We have some real ringers who bring bikes you can't get in the states and run them somehow getting titles and plated Loop record is 9 hours and change that's really flying.

Anyways if you're looking for a good ride join me this Saturday at 6am at the Clar Mont Campground in Wellington, Ohio. It'll be a nice ride. Wardie

If you guys want to really do it up look at Route 250 In WV its an awsome road that I used to ride regularly when I lived in Pittsburgh, I ocassionally hit it now.

Best deal since you have to ride to get to it is slab it to Wheeling WV get on Rte 250 there, run Rte 250 down to either Mannington, WV or Fairmont, WV and back to Wheeling. You won't be dissapointed.

Also for those in the Canton area you can take 250 from wheeling to New Philly its not a bad ride either.
