rear tail light

anyone every replaced the rear tail light with something more updated, just to modify the look a little bit? How did it turn out? I've seen some naked bike mods where they've done it and it looks pretty sweet. Just wondering if anyone has swapped tail lights just for the heck of it and had a really good turnout.

Any mods to the taillight would probably look with mods to the subfrane as its designed for that tacky 80's-90's styling. The newer stuff has all thar slick pointy led stuff that would look like crap on the 250 without changing the rear fairings, etc. But then again we all hace different ideas about what looks good

From my thread:

edit: IMO anything but stock rear lights doesn't look as good on bikes w/ fairings. At least for the pregens.

yeah the best mod you can do to your tail light with a pre gen is to move your blinkers up to it, and tent it with one light coat. then put super bright lights in.

It's only cause of the angle it was taken. In the following picture, you can see it won't touch the tire if the suspension bottoms out.

If you're interested in doing this mod, it was a simple bolt on, besides drilling two holes in a small piece of sheet metal to move the license plate over. It's an integrated LED tail light from eBay, with a brake light modulator installed. It's mounted using corner brackets and the two holes that are already on the bike. I think they were used to mount the grab bar thing.
