Summer FUN 6hr Endurance Race

***IT'S ON!!!!***

Kit and I will be hosting another 6 hour endurance race at Apex Racing Center. If you're not on my friends list I haven't had a chance to tell you about it. The event page is here:
https://www.facebook.com/events/236618393195016/

It's a mini moto event so it's cheap racing and there's a really good chance you could find a team to race with. Mini riders are notorious for lending out their bikes for events when they can't attend so post up if you want to compete.

All of our ducks are in a row and you guys have voted on which direction to battle, so it's time to race! We're proud to announce another endurance event at Apex Racing Center. Shari and Dave are handing us the keys to the track to have our way with it for 1 day in June. Are you ready to compete against some of the fastest riders in SoCal?!?

If you haven't raced in one of our endurance races, have no fear. This event is intended for all levels from brand new racer to seasoned VET. Teams are encouraged to mix up their talent pool and invite new timers to dip their toes into the competition pool. Active and retired AMA level racers enjoy attending mini endurance races and this gives us local guys a rare opportunity to mix it up with professional riders without worrying about risk of triple digit speeds. It's always a great time when you're on a mini.

Build your team wisely. Winning an endurance race is not just about being the fastest racers on the track, you've also gotta have a rock solid bike and the team skills to bring everyone as well as the hardware across the finish line in one piece. Strategy is a big part of an endurance event. Run your bike ragged and it may not survive the battle. Reckless racing and multiple crashes can equal a DNF. Not double checking your bike's health before going into this event may also result in having to park it before you reach the checkered flag. Plan wisely and bring spares. Your race craft and mechanical skills will be tested equally.

*Race Bike Choice*

Six hours is just long enough for rider changes and pit stops to make a difference but not too long that you can't race with your trusty KX65. This is by far one of the most popular machines on the mini grid currently and we've already proven multiple times that the motor is up to the task. What you race is totally up to you and the options are plentiful. See below for the different race class choices to battle in. Bikes will be scored by class but there will also be an Ironman class and an award for the team that turns the most laps overall.

***************DETAILS**************

To reserve your teams' spot, email me directly at: LibertyShane@Gmail.com

Once I get near my 25 team cut off I will email back to request a deposit to hold your spot in the event. I will only ask for the $70 from the team captain to hold the spot.

Course Direction: COUNTER CLOCKWISE with the extra turn added in before the front straight. This is the original supermoto course before the dirt was added.

We will start this event with a Le Mans start. It was highly enjoyed at the last 6 hour so we're doing it again.

This event will be run during daylight savings so a chunk of the event will be under the lights. I will converse with Shari and Dave on final scheduling but I would like to start the racing by 2pm. This will give everyone plenty of time to practice but also allow there to be plenty of racing under the lights. If this changes I will post info on this event page.

We will have an EMT on site as well as our flagging team and we will be running timing and scoring for this event. We will use AMB transponders to keep track of each team's laps and we will upload them to Mylaps later for you to view your results.

Marylex Photography will be out taking pictures of our racers and we also be making custom plaques for the top 3 winners in each class.

RACE CLASSES:

Special Note: I am limiting this race to 25 teams. Please register early to avoid missing the fun!

Scooter Class: This class will be offered for any scooter of any make and model up to 190cc 4-stroke or 85cc 2-stroke.

50GP: NSR50 and any other 2 or 4-stroke 50cc (62.9cc overbore allowed) class machines

65GP Class: All 2-stroke machines up to 65cc (71cc overbore allowed). Formula Rules.

85GP Class All 2-stroke machines up to 85cc. Formula Rules.

Mini Thumper XR100/TTR125/SSR125 Class: Any AIR COOLED 4-stroke machine up to 150cc is allowed. Formula Rules
This allows for 125cc bikes to overbore to match the XR115cc superhead kit. Puts all bikes on level ground if you want to build it.

*Special class*

IRONMAN class: This race class will be for any racer who is willing to race 6 hours by themselves. There will be no CC separation so it's up to you to turn the most laps. Faster does not guarantee a victory, so chose your race craft wisely.

AWARDS:

We will have an awards ceremony and the top 3 finishers from each race class will get to climb the podium for photos.

-Awards will go to the top 3 teams for each class as long as there are at least 5 entries in their class. If there are 4 or less teams, the top winner in that class will receive and award.

-IRONMAN!!!!
We will be rewarding a special award for the top Ironman.

-Top Team
We will award a special trophy to the team who completes the most laps.

ENTRY FEE:
-$70 per racer. This includes the all day practice and the race.
-One time fee of $10 PER TEAM to rent a transponder for your bike if you don't already have one. If you or anyone you know has an AMB transponder, there will be no fee. Just give us your transponder number when you register.
-Non-racers are welcome to ride all day for $38 (race not included) There is no transponder needed for practice.

Below is the list of rules in force for the 6/hr event. Please read carefully.

RULES:

- Each team is allowed 1 bike to race with. You can bring as many spare parts as you like but you must start and finish with the bike you registered to race with. If you damage your bike too much to continue or the bike has a catastrophic mechanical failure, you will be allowed to repair the bike in your pit area. There is no time limit for repairing your bike but the bike must pass tech inspection before rejoining the race.

- There is no limit to how many people you can have on your team. It's only a 6 hour event though so plan accordingly.

- There must be a team captain for each team. The captain is responsible for getting everyone registered and getting the bike to pass tech.

-HOT PIT 5mph rule: The hot pit area where you will change riders or stop for fueling will be a 5mph area. This is meant to keep everyone safe and prevent collisions. Let's keep the high speed racing ON the track. If you or one of your teammates disobeys this rule you will receive 1 warning. If you fail to heed this warning and continue to speed in the pits, your team will be penalized 5 laps.

-Failing to stop at tech after a crash:
The mandatory pit stop for re-tech must be heeded. Failure to do so will force the flag team to bring out a black flag for your team. We will bring you in and give you a warning, then send you back out to rejoin the race. Should you or anyone on your team fail to heed the tech rule later in the race after a warning, your team will be penalized 5 laps.

-Tech inspection: We will have a mobile tech running around the pit area making sure your bike is safe to race. Basic requirements will be the same as any STTARS event.

Equipment Standard:

● All machines must have operating front and rear brakes.
● Headlight, taillight and turn signals must be removed or have their lense covered with tape.
● Center and sidestand must be removed.
● All engine, transmission and final-drive-unit oil drain plugs must be safety wired or have a glob of 3M Weather strip cement (aka; gorilla snot) smeared upon the bolt head and adjoining surface.
● Carburetor vent tubes must be routed into a catch bottle of at least 6 oz. capacity.

Number Plates:
● Must have a suitable number plate surface on the front and both sides of the bike.
● Motocross or dirt track style plates are recommended.
● The plate's background color must contrast with the color of the numbers used so that you can be scored.

Approved Tires

● Roadrace slicks, cut slicks or rain tires
● Any DOT tire

Required Riding Gear:

● Roadrace or dirt-track leathers are highly recommended.
● Motocross gear will be allowed, but must include knee cups, hip pads, elbow pads and a chest/back protector or heavy enduro jacket.
● Boots must offer full ankle protection.
● Roadrace, street or suitably protective gloves.
● Undamaged full-face road or motocross helmet with face shield or goggles.

****CRASHING RULE****

The definition of crashing is: If your handlebars touch the ground, you've crashed.

If you crash your bike during the race you MUST bring it back over to tech. Failure to do this will result in being black flagged to come in, wasting more time than just coming in initially.
There will be a tech worker near the entrance to the track who will make sure your bike is safe to continue. If the bike is fine and you're o.k. you will be immediately cleared to continue racing. This requirement is a safety measure but also an incentive to keep your team from crashing. Keep it rubber side down and you'll be styling.

If you crash out hard and are not sure if your bike is leaking DO NOT re-enter the track. Someone will come help you get your bike off the track. If you are personally hurt and not in danger of being hit by another bike, stay where you are and the EMT will come to you. If you can move but not ride or pick up your bike, put a hand up and wave to a corner worker to show you're o.k. then move to a safe area of the track.

Crashing sucks but we don't want to run the risk of causing someone else to crash because you're accidentally leaking oil.

If you crash, are leaking fluids, and chose rejoin the race you will be black flagged and directed to pull off the track where you're at immediately. A penalty will be assessed for your team most likely resulting in loss of laps.
