Wreckless drivers, be it 4 wheels or 2, will do wreckless things. I hope he learns what he's doing is stupid real fast and not at the cost of someone's life.

What an asshat. No wonder it's getting hard to find good undemolished specimens of sports cars and bikes.

I'm so glad that many years ago my parents tought me to be responsible when given great power and made me work to have the priviledge of owning a sports car. I respected all 225 horses in my first car, an 87 LX 5.0.

I would love to rant but I have more posts to scour, getting close to lunch....

If someone is tailgating me I generally turn off onto another road and either take a different way to my destination or turn around and get back on the same road I turned off from allowing the to get ahead of me down the road.

This:

It may annoy you when people complain about grammar, spelling, and punctuation. However, it annoys others who are trying to read what someone wrote and have trouble doing so because of lack of the aforementioned skills being applied to said writing.

I don't think most people are trying to be grammar Nazis; I think they simply want to be able to read someone's post within a reasonable amount of time and not try to "decode" what is being said. When grammar, spelling, and punctuation are used improperly (if at all), it makes for a very hard read of what may be a very interesting topic.

No one expects perfect grammar (other than maybe an English teacher) in a forum post. It just helps to be able to read what someone is trying to convey. You don't need to be an English Major, but following a few basic rules helps to keep thoughts organized and allows the writer to deliver the message more effectively.

Yeah, but how you write is a direct representation of your personality and the respect you are attributing to the reader. The display of poor grammar either shows a lack of education, a disdain about how your written piece will be seen by the reader, or both.

For those of you who poo-poo the ability to write concisely and properly, understand the following. Throughout your life, both in the profesional and personal realm, you will be judged by the quality of your writing. If your writing proficiency is more suited to a text message than a white paper or business proposal, than you will suffer dearly throughout your productive adult years.

Like it or not, if you can't write worth a camel turd, chancers are you will not be succesful in the corporate world.

Seriously I did not want to start a thread about how bad my grammer or anyone else's is, but just because someone doesnt go writing professional or was not the best student doesnt mean they will become a total failure.

To be honest i just wanted to rant about how some people are unsafe on the road, not on a paper. If you read my post and put a post about something related to the actual post thank you and for those that thought it was sloppy should of just not read it and left there posts to themselves, if they read it just to put a input about my grammer.

I just posted a rant witnessing someone having more than they can handle and not being the safest on the road which is a big thing, the rant was just a quick post because i was limited on time. Instead of This thread just getting some input about how people can relate to seeing some people just acting plain reckless, It has become about my grammer. It really was not what i wanted to see because i would have been happier with no replys. But i am glad i recived some replys not relating to grammer, and im sorry for the ones that did not understand it but it was simple english got a question ask away...

Overall its a rant not a question it can be rhetorical, but post are welcome. I just dont need something like a reckless driver altering my mood then people making it worse judging my writing, when i come to a place where i can feel like i can open and just relax a bit. Thanks for reading

You're free to rant about wreckless drivers the same as they're free to rant about grammar or punctuation.

I find it surprisingly annoying when reading a thread that has been tainted with grammar police. If you see that someone else has mentioned something about the writers grammar then that should suffice. There is no need to ruin an entire thread by having a grammar battle. Everyone's free to rant about grammar so make a "Let's constantly poke and annoy people who use improper grammar thread"; you can quote posts from other threads and have your fun there instead of wasting space in other threads with useless rants on improper usage of the English language. Hell, you can make it available for all languages for that matter.

Only useless if people ignore them.

I, for one, welcome corrections for things I obviously don't know so I can learn from my mistakes.

How would you feel if your thread got hijacked? Come on people, I like this website, dont' ruin it with excessive grammar checking.

You just added to the off-topic posts.

At least it's bringing a lot more eyeballs to his rant, which is what he wanted... right? Anyway, it's kinda hard to reply with an on-topic post of you don't understand the original, so that's understandably holding back the replies you are looking for. To keep my post on topic and to help others understand what he was saying so that they, too, can participate in an on-topic reply, here is my translation of the original post:

The kid ended up fish tailing and then did a few donuts and then, unless it was already messed up, he broke his rear bumper on the curb (either way, I heard his car draging something).

That was straight up reckless because its near a crosswalk where students and pedestrians were crossing. If he had hopped up on the curb he probably would have hit someone! It looks like he lost control but regained it before tailgating me most the way home. I'm sharing this because it made me think of the people who start out on dangerously big bikes and the trouble they get into.
