Clipping someone?

Have you ever been splitting traffic while everyone is stopped at a red light and clipped someones mirror with yours?

Twice.

Oh, wait.... that was in a rental car... in London. Sure wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.

It wasn't safe to stop immediately and it didn't even tweak my mirror, so I didn't pull over. I did go slow and give them a chance to catch up in case they wanted me to but they didn't.

Two trucks clipped mirrors here a few years back, triggered a road rage incident that resulted in the clipper shooting the clippee dead on the spot. Sadly, or not depending on one's opinion, lane splitting in Texas is considered reckless riding and will get the rider arrested and jailed for up to 30 days with a $200 fine plus court costs and fees.

Kind of the opposite side of it, but I've been clipped before on a bike. A impatient driver in a F250 with tow mirrors drove up a soft shoulder to make a right on red (at the FM1431 / Parmer Ln / Ronald Regen Blvd intersection. if anyone knows it).

I was stopped waiting in line, standing up like I normally do at a light and her mirror smacked me in the back of the head / upper shoulders. Luckily, back then I didn't fall into the normal "cruiser crowd" and only wearing a bandanna and a tank top. My shoei, shoulder armor and back pad did its job and took the blunt of it. Only injury I had was a scrape near my clavicle from the helmet being forced down so abruptly (wearing a no collar summer Astars jacket). The impact broke the mirror off the truck, and of coarse the driver kept going and never looked back. Funny thing was a Williamson Co. Sheriff was in the north side of the intersection (I was going west) at the front of the line and witnessed the accident. That's the only time in my life a officer has been around when I needed one.

To say the least the driver didn't have a good day after that. The girl just kept saying "I didn't even notice I hit something", nice to know I was only considered something, and not someone. Lol. The officer found it hard to believe either way.

I've clipped a few mirrors in my time, no damage, and I don't bother to stop. I loosened the screws on my mirrors, so they fold in easily when contact is made with anything. I did get shoulder checked by an F350 once. That **** hurts. Technically, under the letter of the law, any "contact" as it's called in the CVC is considered a collision.

I haven't clipped anyone yet *knock on wood*. When I lane split, I try to be reasonable about it, altho there have been some close calls.

Haven't clip anyone, but I've notice the the stock mirrors on the 250r is around the same height as most car mirrors. So I change my stock mirrors to bar end mirrors. Now they're lower (in height) and I can lane share with one less worry.

I was thinking of getting bar end mirrors but thought they would hit more I guess your right because the stock ones are the same height

i clipped a minivan today with my shoulder
didnt slow down, i got pissed off and just took off

but today wasnt a particularly good day either
i woke up late
had sudden power loss, went from 110 to 95 in 1 second.....pretty scary
mis-shifted
clipped someones mirror
got stuck behind an SUV police, CHP, and an unmarked police cruiser
then on the way home:
got cut off by a douchbag around a bend, freeway junction
and mis-shifted again
