The k7's are my favorite in the looks department as far as gixxers go. Nice buy!

Me want

Normally I just like Red and Black, but that has enough red to pull it off and make the white look real good.

10k or so. Aside from miles, I am a true researcher of the sport, I read books, buy DVDs, actually practice advanced techniques, take courses, etc.

I effin love this bike, I opened it up a bit today after I got it insured, and it feels amazing. Very well built machine and handles incredibly. I respect the power of this bike, and I'm taking it easy, but it's not scary either, it's responsive but not violent, and it's more forgiving for an INTERMEDIATE rider then people think. I haven't seen 5th gear yet though! Hell, you hit 90 in third...

As for those asking about the price, I paid 6k even, after having it inspected seriously by a suzuki repair shop. They said this bike has never been down, has been seriously cared for (Chain is waxed etc), and is a great machine.

that sounds like an honest review of a 600. It seems about on par with how I would describe the cbr600rr I've been riding. Pretty tame but strong in the low end and then pulls in the midrange and hold on tight in the top end.

I like that gsxr you bought a lot. beautiful machine and everyone who rides a gixxer loves them (so far that I've heard of) but idk if I could buy one until I'm obviously older because of the stereotype of young guys riding gixxers like idiots. I feel like people would immediately assume I'm going to do something dumb and drive in a more hostile manor

Eh, I understand the stereotype. I was like "I'm not gonna buy a gsxr, gsxr guys are dumb, with there wheelies and such" lol. I did some thinking about my reasoning and realized that gsxr's got so popular in the first place by being just plain good machines. With the great number of them sold, the idiots will come. Suzuki's attention to detail and engineering is noticeable, and there reliable. The fact that they are SO popular makes them cheaper. Craigslist GSXR and you'll find a thousand of them, the sheer number of them for sale drives the price down dramatically on the used market.

Steffie, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think you have read all the threads concerning this topic.

GSXR equals SQUID

You have just condemned yourself!

Congrats on the bike. GSX-Rs are great machines. I can't imagine you being disappointed with it.

<begin rant> I would point out though, that a slightly cheaper purchase price is offset by insurance, at least it would be for me personally. I am right outside of metro Atlanta, so I imagine that affects the price as well. When I was contemplating buying a Gixxer, I found that insurance was $400 more a year than the Kawasaki, Honda, and Yamaha equivalents through Allstate and Progressive. It was even higher when I checked Geico.

So as great a bike as it is, the idiots certainly made it synonymous with squid, if even insurance companies are noticing.

</rant>

Enjoy the bike!

My insurance was exactly the same as it is on the 250
Although, I'm going to likely put comprehensive on it..

As for the squidlyness, I'm not gonna get into that ridiculousness.
I do have a few mods planned. The only thing done so far is the fender eliminator

I'm so used to flashing someone by flicking the highbeam button back and forth that I won't make any use of the "Pass" switch. But because it's already there, and located so well, I have an idea!
I'm going to mount 4 super high power xenon strobe lights to the front of the bike (possibly in the ram air vents, or disassemble the headlight and put them in there, etc) and wire it up to the pass button. It'll come in handy when I get that feeling that person doesn't see me at the next intersection, I'll light up like a cop car (just not when theres really one around). I'll still continue to ride like he doesn't see me, but it could help my chances, plus it'll look cool lol

Such a pretty bike for a squid. Since I have just turned 40 it's impossible to be labeled as a squid. I am happy to rid you of your burden and take it off your hands.

Good luck and keep the wheelies to a minimum

Nice man! I am going to get the 2005/2006 ninja 636! I would go with a gixxer, but I have my kawi jacket which I absolutely love so I don't want to switch up! =p
