Decal Kits for 08+ Ninja 250r
I've been looking for a place to buy decal kits for my ninja and I found some pretty good looking ones that aren't as pricey compared to other ones I've seen elsewhere. I thought I would share with all of you and get some opinions on them.
Here's the link: http://j3graphix.com/ninja250main.htm Some pictures from the site and there's plenty more there: |

That all depends on the type of material they use. If it's a die-cut vinyl don't expect to be able to peel away the decal if you make a mistake or don't like the angle position.
The ones I get are a bit pricey but you can peel them of numerous of times and it will still hold its adhesiveness (sp?). |

Soapy Water. It's how the expensive vinyl shops apply full car wraps and tinted windows to high dollar rides. Just a few drops of common dish soap in a mist spray bottle then fill it with distilled or filtered water, spray the bike surface (after thorough cleaning, making sure there's no dust), then spray both sides of the vinyl and apply. Get your positioning just right, then slowly start to squeegee out the soapy water from the middle towards the edges to cut down on air bubbles. Give it 36 to 48 hours to dry before riding. If any air bubbles remain after that time, DON'T try to force them toward the edge, just get a small pin and pop the bubble and force the air out. I used to do vinyl lettering on the sides of boats with my aunt when I was young, that's how she taught me. This technique even works for screen protectors on cellphones and game systems like the PSP and the DS variants, just be careful not to get any water inside the electronics, have a piece of dry toilet paper sitting at the edge of the vinyl to catch any escaping water. And don't spray the system itself, just the protector/vinyl skin. |

For the price, you could make your own vinyls cheaper just by buying Self Stick Vinyl at your local craft store and cutting out your own design. There's hundreds of colors to choose from, including chrome, metallic, and pearl variants.
It's really not that hard to do, and you're only limited by your imagination. You can pay $45 to $60 to buy another "me too" pre-made kit, or you can create your own 100% custom piece for a fraction of the price that it would cost you at a pro vinyl place. |

Soapy water.
Just a tip for applying decals. Use johnsons baby shampoo in your spray bottle, not too much.

Stock stickers can be bought from bikebandit.com, I just got some from there for my replacement fairing, albeit wrong side of bike. I only ordered the 2 big ones w/ the black and red, 1 is $95 and the other is $45.
I didn't bother w the stickers that look like paint splashes, as I took those off 3 mins after bringing bike home. |

Hey guys sorry to bump an old topic. Thanks Crriiissss for the kind words. I do these kits part time at home. It's almost more of a hobby for me. I'm not here to sell, just inform. The kits I make are machine cut vinyl. The vinyl is made for exterior signage and rated at 4-5 years, so they will hold up very well on a bike unless you leave it outside uncovered all the time. I can make custom designs and I make all of my existing designs in almost any color combination. Contact me if you need anything. I have made templates of nearly every area of the bike, so I can design something and know that it will fit the first time.
It's good to be here. I now have an 08 250 (technically my wife's) and I've always been a fan of the bike. |

One of the bikes recently for sale here had a number plate like paint job that continued on the seat cowl. My idea for custom graphics kinda needs that. Anyone seen tail + cowl numberplate graphics?

I get my stickers from Chris Kruzel of Drippin Wet. They are worth every penny. Just give him an Idea of what you want and he'll design it for you.
