Will this GPS mount fit?
I was wondering if this mount will fit on the handlebar.
http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-GPS032-H...d_bxgy_e_img_b Or I was wondering if i can just velcro a regular gps mount above the gauges, will that be stable enough? I'm scared that it might fall off while riding. |

I wouldn't rely on velcro. No information on whether that particular mount will fit. I've always used RAM mounts, and there are a number of options to get them to fit. The two most common are screwing a ball mount into the unused mirror holes on the handlebar, or a simple u-bolt mount around the handlebar in between the grip and where it attaches to the triple-tree.

I agree with Alex. Don't cheap out on the mount for an expensive GPS.
I use a RAM mount for my Garmin GPSMap 60CSx. When fully tightened I can actually move my handle bars using the GPS mount. It's that sturdy. |

It doesn't look like it will fit to me. There isn't much extra room on the bars so anything that attaches needs a reaching arm to hold the device farther away with a relatively small footprint on the bar.

Thank you for the suggestions. After looking through other threads and websites I found these. Going to connect it to the side mirror.

Which mirror mount are you trying to connect it to, the actual side mirror on the fairing? If so - be aware that some of the folks that have tried similar mountings have quite alot of vibration on the GPS. I'd strongly recommend something that mounts to a more solid metal mounting point.

Yea I was thinking to the fairing so I can put it right above the gauge. Since I have already ordered it I will try it out and if it vibrates too much i'll mount it somewhere else.

Get a ram mount. They are not that expensive and are high quality. I have one on my fazer that screws into the bolt holes for the bars, Works like a champ.

This is what you want: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=20009
I have mine nice and snug (careful not to break anything), and have no vibration issues.... just awesomeness.
