An oxymoron if I ever saw one.
Hey guys (gals),
Check this out - http://mobile.craigslist.org/mcy/2679391649.html Now, I don't mean to belittle scooters in anyway, I own a vintage 1984 50cc scooter and ride her as much as I do my ninja (if not more, considering that I just bought my ninja). But a "sportbike scooter"...really? Those two words shouldn't even be on the same page, let alone on the same sentence referring to a crossbred monstrosity for a motorcycle. What's the world coming to? or did I have too much coffee to drink today? Peace. |

yup...throttle and brakes...that's all it has. I can see the appeal to some people, not complicated as a sport bike but with the design and look of one...but I don't know, scooters are a class of their own and so are sport bikes. No disrespect to anybody of Chinese descent but they're flooding the markets with cheap, unreliable and downright ugly stuff...this 'thing' being a prime example.

The first sentence of the wikipedia scooter article says: "A scooter is a motorcycle with step-through frame and a platform for the operator's feet." Other sources of definitions give a similar meaning. I don't think that thing can count as a scooter.

Don't want, but I can imagine it'd be a nice learning "bike" for newbs who haven't grasped the concept of a manual transmission yet.
