Side stand spring came off on a freeway...

As I just merged into rush hour 80mph traffic. Engine cutoff at that point and I was able to get onto the shoulder...I looked around and noticed the stand just hanging there. Luckly the spring was also still hanging there!
What a heck happened? Road vibration? Did I kick it? I really do not want to experience this again...

I can't say I've ever experienced that before, but you aren't the first. http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=50108

Hmm... I will be zip-tying my spring to the kickstand itself now.. I lost my kickstand spring in a lowside, but the replacement spring looks it could bend out. Let's hope it doesn't!

It looks like one of the guys in the other thread solved the problem by using a pregen spring, its worth a shot since you can get it for less than 5 bucks online. The part number for the pregen spring is 92081-1727

Also, for the OP the part number for the newgen is 921450084 in case you ever need or want a new one.
