Honda CBR300R, hmmm...

Honda stepped it up a bit, at least now it's competitive with the Ninja 250 ! should make this class a bit interesting for 2014, assuming American Honda offers it stateside.

If they've really only stroked it to get to 300cc, then my prediction is that it will be even further behind the EX300 than the CBR250 was behind the EX250 in terms of peak horsepower. Kawasaki actually pulled a pretty good engineering feat getting about 20% more peak power from a 20% displacement increase all in the stroke.

I think I read on one of the websites that the CBR300R will be 30hp/20tq.

yah like the link i provided in the OP. (the 20 tq is incorrect tho)
the extra hp should def put in on par with the EX250.

The larger engine claims a peak output of 30.4 hp at 8500 rpm and 19.9 ft-lb. at 7250 rpm. The CBR250R by comparison claims 23.7 hp at 9900 rpm and 12.7 ft-lb. at 7400 rpm
