rpms dropping

Ugh always something with my bike haha

Okay so at idle my rpms will just drop and bounce back up almost like a miss fire but after getting hot it stops. But then rpms start to hang at 2k before dropping

Any ideas? Heres a video

Is the gas fresh?

I'd say the first things to do would be to adjust the idle mixture (sounds like it's lean) and check the carb sync before moving on.

How do the plugs look?

Idle speed is to low. 1300 +/- 50 rpms. If you ever look at your plugs you may be running rich. The slight fluctuation is probably nothing. Otherwise the bike sounds normal.

Have you had the valves adjusted yet?

Still have rpm issues? If the bike runs and pulls fine all the way to redline, then I wouldn't worry about that little thing. Now if it does it while riding under load, then I would think something is up.

These are a good indicator if you're running too lean or too rich.
A new set of Iridiums may also help your ignition woes a little.

I read somewhere idle hang is a bad thing. And the issue only occurs when the brt is plugged in not stock cdi. But what would the odds of getting 2 bad cdi units?

My bike does the exact same thing only its a pregen. I'm going to sync my carbs then see if it helps. What are your idle screws at?

The timing is different between the BRT i-DTIS and the stock CDI, which could account for the small difference. Not to mention the BRT-i-DTIS is meant for a racing application.

A few other things to note.
1. you have a jet kit and slip on and have no idea how rich or lean you are running
2. your average ambient temp you've been riding in is over 100 degrees faren. temps play a role in how rich or lean the bike runs
3. to your knowledge you haven't had a valve adjustment or plug change/check.

If your idle hangs or is hunts, it's usually a symptom of another problem. You may need to readjust the idle mixture or have the valves adjusted. Poor idle is a give-away of valves being out of adjustment.
