So I figured I should do a proper post for the newest ninja of the family. She got beat pretty bad, and was into some nasty stuff. But we are gonna take care of her and get her the help she needs. No one is beyond saving. Except the cb750 I sold. She was a basket case.
Anywho, here is the ninja I bought off a guy who my friend (who was with me to see the bike) once arrested and slammed the dad up against a house. One of the places the motor blew So I basically have to get the motor I just bought installed and few other things and I'm good to go. Plus tires. Last night was when I picked up a 93 motor running, chain with 10 miles, both sprockets, carbs (with bigger jets supposedly), and seat latch for $240. Brings me to a total of $640 spent. Minus the $300 I got for the cb750 I got for free. So right now I'm sitting at $340 out of my pocket for almost everything I need to have a running 600. Did I mention the motor has a fresh rebuild on it? Not even out of the break-in period. |

Thanks guys!
I picked up a motor last week off a 93. Was rebuilt top end with 10 miles on it. Then he had title issues and decided to just part it out. He mentioned white oil, but I assumed it was the normal crankcase air after rebuild thing. Then I realized he didn’t crack open the bottom end. So the milky looking oil means coolant in the oil. So now I have the motor on the work bench partially torn down. Just need to flip it and pull the oil pan and bottom case. Then its off to checking tranny and water pump. Hoping I don’t have to do the head gasket too since he already did that recently. |
