Weird Dying Cat Noise
Hello all,
My bike has been making this weird noise (dying cat) lately for a few weeks now. It even occurs about every 10mins even when the key is not even in the ignition. I had asked my friends and they're not really sure. Ones said it could be the fuel tank pressure so I opened that up, but it didn't stop. Any help is much appreciated. |

Fuel tank vent.... Mine sounds like whale calls. I kinda like it really, but if you don't there is a gas cap mod floating around to fix it.

^ That one.
If a bike makes a vent noise and no one is around does it make a sound? Either take it as her mating call and go ride her or ignore her or drill her a bigger hole, which ever is your type of relationship response to Cat Calling.

Option 1: Believe Chris that your gas tank is making noise. (TBH that sounds highly suspicious to me.)
Option 2: There is a dying cat in your gas tank. I think we know which option has the highest probability. |

Option 3: Kawasaki's cat. It can be both in your tank and not in your tank at the same time. |

You're going to have to dig deeper into the issue. See if you can narrow down where the sound is coming from or if you can do anything to affect the sound. That'll give a better idea of what might be causing it.

To be clear: the sound was still occurring while the gas cap was open?

Just opening and closing the gas cap will not stop it. It will not whistle while the cap is open.

So it is very likely the gas tank vent as I'm sure been mentioned many times above (I didn't read all the posts!)
