massive carbon build up on 2006 250
P1010023.JPG
Can you see this picture? Just purchased this bike and rode it about 70 miles home..considering that this bike has suffered abuse and has lived in a 3rd world country for the past 3 years without any good mechanics it seemed to run pretty good, here is a picture after taking the exhaust off you can see the massive carbon build up on one side. P1010024.JPG Any ideas on what my problem is? After taking the air filter apart you can see that this piece of foam stuffed in here doesn't even cover the wire mesh opening. The spark plug i found in here are Ngk C7HSA. Am i looking at a top end rebuild? can i clean off the carbon build up , adjust the valves and get some life out of this engine before having to take it apart? Thanks for your help |

looks like you have a bad seal or valve guide. Clean it up and ride it till you get tired of adding oil often.

Clean it and go through it with oil, new filter, adjust valves, and hopefully it will be fine for a while. Keep track of how much oil you're burning
