Spark Plug not sparking? PLEASE HELP
I recently have bought all the parts to put together a 2008 Ninja 250R, (Risky) I am currently 16 years old and plan on mounting this engine in my current 150cc 7HP engine lol. I have everything working, the electric start works, everything.. Except the spark plugs. I'm not 100% sure how to wire the coils, Yes I did ground them, I also grounded everything else that was needed to be grounded. BUT, the spark plugs just don't spark, any help, please!? THANKS SO MUCH.

As of rightnow, everything is wired stock. What would be something that would cause it to not spark?

Are you using the OEM key? Because there is a 100 ohm resistor in there to prevent "HOT WIRING".
If your not using the OEM set up, then you need to add a 100ohm resistor, please see to wiring diaphragm(pdf) below. Good luck

Well not the oem key, I'm using one that I bought from eBay, a replacement one. Do I still need that resistor? thanks again!

Yes. I repinned the Chinese eBay ignition switch/lock because how they set it up is not up to standard. Regardless, you need to add a 100 ohm resistor to make it work.

yes. Without the resistor the ignition system wont work. You can get a few at radio shack for a dollar or so.

thought so, and be sure to install the new resistor properly.

what he said ^^^^^^^^^^ the anti theft just keeps the ignition from working. It will turn over etc but wont power the plugs.

It part of the ignition circuit, nothing to do with the starter circuit.

Thank yall so much, I'll check about the resistors when I get home. one more thing, does anyone have any idea on which wires plug into which side of the ignition coils? There is a green side and a black side.. Thanks

Nothing happened with the resistor. I used a 1 watt 100Ohm resister, was it supposed to be a half watt? please reply ASAP. thanks

it has to be the right voltage coming out of the ignition switch. I remember I bought a ebay switch i had to run 2 100 ohm resistors together to get the voltage in the "safe area". Try one more.

it can be done after the switch as well doesnt have to be done on the switch. just fyi. But its possible it just didnt drop the voltage enough. Try two.

colors could vary with the aftermarket ignition switch. I think mine was a different color than on the main wiring harness. But on the harness I beleive it connects to a grey wire like the schematic above.

I guess we shall assume that you did it right, are the other safety switches right? Like the motor in neutral, kickstand down sensor, and make sure all the fuses are good. Check the fuse for ignition.
Just throwing stuff out there to check. I still would wire in another resistor. Thats what I had to do to get the voltage right.

yeah throw another one on there. Its a matter of what voltage passes through. I cant remember the voltage but 2 resistors 1 watt each did it for me. Hope someone else can chim in and state what voltage needs it to be

series. one right after the other. Do you know what voltage and ohm reading your getting after the resistor?

sure two will do it. If its not the resistor I would think its something else. hmm..... try two and report back asap.
