Hello From Royal oak,MI

Hello,

This forum has been a great source of information for me to help determine my bike purchase. So thanks for all your posts and DIY's... so helpful. I ha ve been a lurker for awhile and figured I should post up, register and say hello... I have never ridden a motorcycle before 3 weeks ago. Took my MFC got my license and bought a new 2009 ninja 250 about a week later. Of course its black as we all know they are the fastest ones. = D. This is a true lone wolf adventure for me as I know no one that owns a motorcycle and I am too young for a mid life crysis sort of thing. Im having a blast with it... for some reason i got the bug at the start of this year and the bike I feel in love with was a 250 ninja. Although I have always had a thing for 2 wheels (just not with motors) I do alot of trail ride'n (Mountain bike'n) and there is alot in common ... more then id ever expect.

Fast forward to today ... I just rolled over 400 miles and did my first oil change at 250 (with some helpful links off of this site) and im looking to get out and maybe hit my first bike night (with my own bike ..yaahooo) here in town tonight to mingle with the motor'n crowd. So if anyone local is looking for someone to hang with, do cruise'n or hit a bike night ... please let me know. Also if anyone knows some good local or semi local rides that they would like to share that would be awesome.

I'll post some pics up soon ... Great commumity for this bike and I hope to meet some of you someday...

Welcome to the Ninjette forums! Congrats on getting your first bike!
Just to let you know, we have started a little local Ninjette riders group here in SE Michigan called the Detroit Metro Ninjette Riders. The main motivating force for our social events is ScorpionNinja (aka Dave). Check out the events in the "Group Rides and Local Events" section.
There is a great gathering of sportbikes every Thursday nite in downtown Royal Oak during the warm months! You should fit right in there!

sugarbear - cool thanks for the info... I live down the street and have seen bike night for many years in Royal Oak. I just never gone to bike night ... ummm .. on a bike. (LOL)

kkim -Aloha, Royal Oak - South East Michigan - A suburb of Detroit. (about 30 mins away) I just got to say I love your state. If I ever go back it may be for good. I'll post and let ya know just in case you see me living off the land in the forest. Maybe this is not your island but have you done the road to Hana (maybe its just a tourist thing and to you its just visiting a friend = ) ) on Maui? That ride would be soooo sick on a motorcycle.

Old Guy - You are right!! I just rolled over 500+ miles... still loving it and my choice of motorcycle.
