RS Taichi
Anyone have any experience?
I just picked up a couple of pieces from them. I got the All Season Parka and the Matrix Overpants. I'm hoping they will keep me somewhat warm commuting to work in the fall. The jacket doesn't seem like it has must abrasion resistance, but it does have armor. It seems like it'll be good for commuting/city riding, but not aggressive riding. The over pants, well, they're pants. Seem to have more abrasion resistance than the jacket, knee armor is in a good spot. I'll know more after I wear them a couple of times. |

That's good to hear. I currently have alpinestars two piece leathers but am thinking about picking up a one piece in the spring. I've been eyeing the RS Taichi just to have something a bit different.

I have their leather jacket and it saved my shoulder when I went down in the rain. It's held up almost perfectly these 3 years too.

A friend of mine, that races mostly, is sold on RS Taichi.
If you are serious about personal protection, I would recommend a good set of armored street boots if you don't have them. Ankle injuries are a real pain. All it takes is a slow low-side. |

Replaced my old leathers with the RST arrow jacket and motion pants, plus gloves (forget which ones). Did a good deal of reading and am beyond glad I got them over D or A*. Very happy with fit and quality.

I live a few miles away from the US distributor of RS Taichi, Motoliberty in Dallas so I get to see all their products first hand and they are great. Many of the racers in our club including me wear RST suits and they hold up extremely well with seasons of use and crashing.
I don't have as much experience with RST's street apparel but seeing the quality and thoughtfulness they put into their racing gear I'm sure the street gear is also high quality. |
