nice.

This is in the joke section on another website, but perhaps it could fit in here too.

so my son is going on and on the other day about Star Trek. Zachary Quinto Vs. Leonard Nimoy, Kirk v Piccard

I hold up my hand in kind of a claw version of Spock's "live long and prosper" salute.

DaKATH ak na'ka'th nie, Fogak gatath KA'PLA!! (not klingon and everything klingon ends with KA'PLA!!!)

he's all like, "What's that dad"

It's Klingon for "live long and prosper"

Really?

well, translated literally it says "Kill and eat your enemies, and fu.. um reproduce a lot" the Klingon Empire had to clean it up a bit when they joined Star Fleet

it took him 10 minutes before he could breath normally again.

Being a Buddhist we seem to have a lot of inspirational phrases so I will only post a couple

Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.

If you are facing in the right direction, all you need to do is keep on walking.

When 2 points of light intersect with different colors, we only see the color from our perspective unless the light becomes scattered. The exact same thing holds true with people, so look for other's true colors as it might not be what you can see. - csmith

So true Chris. So often we look at the point of the spear and forget about the rest of the weapon. Like a Navy SEAL... Tough individual out there in enemy territory wreaking havoc... but what is he worth without the support team of thousands that it takes to train, transport, supply and mend him. From the helicopter pilot to the guy in the motor pool that keeps the truck running that delivers the fuel to the helicopter to the cook that feeds all of them and on and on. It changes my perspective when I think about how reliant I am on my friends, family and coworkers. And they on me when needed.

I can't find the quote anywhere so maybe it's only urban racing legend but I have had it stuck in my brain for years that Enzo was once asked why he didn't design better brakes. His reply (to paraphrase); "Anyone can build a race car to go slow! It takes a racer to go fast!"
