Battery polarity crossed during a jump start.....bike dead :(

Long story short, a friend was trying to help me jump start my bike with a jump box because the battery only clicked when I tried to start it. He reversed the polarity on the cables and now I get nothing when I try to start the bike. No lights come on when I turn the key, nothing at all.

How hard do I get to smack him upside his fat head???

Is it just the battery that got fried, or is it worse than that? I tried swapping out the ignition fuse, still nothing.

Easy fix, you blew the main 30A fuse, it's on the side of the starter solenoid, replace it, and you should be good to go.

Note in photo, the small red cover, not the one on the battery, the other one labeled FUSE

30A fuze is nothing... Try a 100A fuze installing the battery backwards in a 1990 Celica... Yea, we were all young and negligent at some point - some of us still are. don't be too hard on your friend, you both learned a valuable lesson with an easy fix.

Get the beer, then smack. Then share a beer with the person that shouldn't be touching vehicles.

ditto. I have Ford and Acura certifications out the ass from 15 years of wrenching in dealerships before going back to school and I can't even count the number of dumb mistakes myself and other pros have made.
