Found at work today

So most of you know, I work on a nuclear site, not just some place that you can stroll on to... fenced, guarded, motion detectors... that kind of thing.

now we have wild life inside the fence...

but this is someone's kitty

was half frozen, and very unhappy... Pretty sure it road in inside someones engine compartment and jumped off in the parking lot once the vehicle stopped.

In any case, snoozing her azz off in a box on my desk now. Warming up, drying out. See if I can get some water in her when she wakes up.

Didn't expect this when I got out of bed this morning.

Found out a little bit more, the custodian was shoveling snow earlier in the week and saw her in the little garden plots north of our building. Still had enough pep in her that he couldn't catch her.

she was down to "yeah, whateve'a" today.

totally snoozin' her tuckus off now that she is warm and dry.

If ....

we can't find the owner (or the owner doesn't come forward)

and IF...

she doesn't make my current cat go bonkers...

I may have to add some more cat hair to every thing I cook.

Plus the cat helps when the house is quiet and the Elijah Craig starts lookin' real good.

well, sad news, she didn't make it through the weekend.

she was skin and bones when I brought her in out of the cold. Once she warmed up all I would do is sleep. I couldn't get her to eat but just a few bits, and she wouldn't drink anything.

Today I tried to go with an eye dropper and get a little liquid into her. She swallowed a few drops but was very weak.

At the very least she was warm and safe at the end. Only knew her a few hours, but still missing her.

At least you were able to give her some comforts.
I had named her Yellowcake because of her eyes and where you found her.

Let me "maybe" be the only one to tell you thank you for your time and attention, it mattered to that being. A kind hand is always welcome around my parts.

:\ too bad, but better than suffering. Animals get the short end of the stick at the hand of man all too often.
