New EX250-L owner :)
Morning!
So I thought id create a intro post with a Q as well to save time. I'v been browsing this forum for a while now since I just took ownership of a 250 (EX250-L) 2013 Ninja which closely resembles the 300 (EX300) model and unfortunately where I'm from there are not many dealers who stock, assist and provide much aftermarket goodies. That place is the most southern tip of Africa, "The cape of storms', but more commonly known as Cape Town Anyway the Q, are these two models (EX250-L) and (EX300) essentially the same bike just different motors and ABS? Would their respective parts match each other i.e seats, mirrors, bars, mufflers etc etc? I cannot seem to find information on what exactly differ's other than the obvious CC. The reason I ask is that the previous owner of mine guttered the stock muffler in an attempt to make it louder and I hate the sound of it. I am trying to source a local stock muffler and might be able to get one off a 300. The after market pipes to bring into the country could incur costs at customs so I am not to keen to try my luck there at the moment. I have seen a local supplier here in Cape Town stocking the "Fuel" mufflers which are based in the UK and seem pretty decent. Anyone had experience with this brand? Thanks in advance! |

Spoilt01! Glad to have you aboard... If it looks like a 300 the mirrors and such should fit; the bodywork is the same. You are right about the different motor though, so I can't say anything about the headers; someone out here should know.

Hello Shadley, it's good to meet you. Although I can't answer your questions, I can relate to reversing loud muffler mods. I like the quietness of a well made motorcycle.

I thought the fuel-injected 250 and the 300 from 2013 onward were essentially the same bike other than displacement, and the only change that caused that displacement difference was a shorter stroke (slightly different crankshaft with shorter throws). I'd guess that just about every other part of the bike is identical, other than some country specific tuning on the ECU, parts to mount a front license plate, or other minor quirks.

Good Morning all
So I have a bit of feedback on the slip-on I ordered from a UK manufacturer called 'Fuel' and what I can confirm is super efficient service, delivery and absolute stunning workmanship! Parts fitted with no issues and machined to perfection. The sound is amazing not overly loud but a much deeper sportier tone. And climbing up the rev range it produces this clean metal sound without losing its tone. The original OEM box that came with the bike was guttered by the previous owner in an attempt to make it louder (what a fool!) and was ok at idle and low speed but as you climbed up the rev range it became just plain noise and disturbing. The main difference here is WEIGHT, it comes in at around 2.8 kg's if not mistaken being waaay lighter and the other it holding its tone throughout the rev range... sings rather than screams. Would def recommend I believe I added pictures correctly so it should be a nice reference to see how it looks and fits... Did I mention CARBON TIP??? Anyway thanks for viewing cheers! |
