Ducatiman Carb Service
I sent my 04 250 Ninja Carbs into Gordon for him to refurbish them. He called and spoke on the phone with me and even talked me into doing less and paying less cause he thought the carbs did not need to be split. I got them back and installed them and the bike started right up and runs great. Gordon is a pleasure to deal with and does highly professional work.... I am amazed at the results..Thanks Gordon

^ dayam....do they run as good as they look?
remember you'll need 2.5 , 3 and 4mm allen wrenches to fully service (and split) these in the distant future. 2.5 for the bowls and diaphragm caps 3 and 4 for the link bars ty, duckfiz |

The bike runs great! Installed the carbs on Sunday and was back on the road enjoying a run over the Cherohala. I didn't think a lil' 250 could be this much fun! Thanks again Gordon. BTW, I was wondering if you service all makes and models? I may be picking up some cheap older bikes for something to do over winter. It sure would be nice to send the carbs off to you while I attend to the other stuff. Duckfiz |

Lee-
I certainly do other brands, from a '38 BMW single to a '01 Yamaha R6. 70's/80's singles, twins, multi's...street, dirt. Honda, Kaw, Zuki, Mikuni/Keihin. I encourage sourcing and sending carb kits along with your "other brand" carbs. I stock all the 250/500 Ninja stuff needed, though. Jets (new and used), needles, emergency salvage spares too. Glad to hear you are running so fine! |

The communication was great and the carbs came back looking stellar. My bike started easier than I've ever experienced, even in the lower temperatures we have right now, and it runs like a champ.

I sent my 2007 Ninja 250 carbs to Gordon after trying and failing to clean them myself. He was very responsive over PM here before I sent them, and after he received them he called and talked me through what was needed and what wasn't and got them turned around super quickly.
I didn't take any pictures when I got them back (too excited to get them back on the bike ) but them looked great. Best of all, they worked! The bike cranked up and ran without any of the problems I was having before I sent them. I would highly recommend Gordon for any carb work you need. |

Received my carburetors back from Ducatiman today, and they look awesome, like new to be honest. Add the that the new stainless steel fasteners, and it looks almost too nice to put back on.
The carburetors were treated to Ducatiman's full services, of ultrasonic bath, soda blasting, split them, all O-rings replaced, including the fuel rail, bench synchronization, and finally wet testing for leaks, and verify the float heights. Below are some before and after pictures taken by Ducatiman, and the final product pictures by myself. My carburetors came off SERENITY, which it ran fine, but due to the age of them 18 years old they needed to be refurbishing, most importantly splitting them and all new O-rings especially the fuel rail. I've known Gordon for many years, and know his work as well, and he's the only one I would trust with my carburetors. His work ethic is second to none, and his knowledge is top notch. Add to that he has the proper equipment, and you have a top quality results. I often recommend Ducatiman services, and the above reasons speak for themselves. Carburetors are not as easy as they seem to be, it's a skill, and unfortunately due to modern technology fuel injection, it's becoming a lost art.

Holy crap, all these are amazing results! Looks brand spanking new after his service. I wished I had sent in my 2nd gen carbs to him. Instead, it took me 3 tries to get them idling correctly.
In some ways, I'm glad I was able to figure it myself because it's an experience and a tool that I gained for myself. But if I ever have a bike with carbs again, I would definitely send it to Ducatiman for service! Been there, done that....don't want to do it again. LOL. I rather have him do it and get it right the 1st time!

Current project Kaw ZRX1200 Keihin 40mm downdraft carbs.....full REFURB and fresh setup, destined for a forum member in Cambodia....he's converting from 36mm to these 40mm monsters.
I'm following his jetting instructions, sourcing orings, jets, needles, float valves here in the US...every consumable automatically being replaced with new.... after total disassembly then cleaning using my machines... (EVERY part is scrutinized) will perform impeccable setup followed by wet testing. NO skimping NO mistakes as these are going half way around the world. Its interesting, sometimes fun, sometimes tedious, sometimes very challenging detail work. Ever remove a corroded, frozen solid_in_place pilot jet using drill/easy out? You CAN'T destroy the threads or carb body! Challenging, nerve wracking to say the least. But in the end....saving a carbset offers a great sense of accomplishment for me....knowing a forum members' bike (another enthusiast just like me) will light up after hitting the starter...hearing or reading his (your) comments, sensing his (your) enthusiasm when it starts/runs...suffice to say... its quite gratifying ....I actually enjoy what I do!

Gordon is good to go. Easy communication. Super fast turn around time. Cleanest I've seen these carbs. Best bang for the buck carb service.

Gordon what is the cost on a rebuild/sync and estimated turn around time? Do you have cores that you could do the work to and then I would return mine to you?

to comment on in-season turnaround time questions ....i'll offer an example
received a West Coast members' carbset for refurb @ 4PM yesterday. DONE by 11PM.....PM'd him, ready to ship back. I frequently work at night...cooler and more comfortable summer working conditions. Fully cognizant of bikes being "down" during riding season. No cutting of corners, either...his carbs came out mint. ..I can't possibly offer quicker, better service than this.

Just got my carbs back today. 1 week door to door. Gordon was fantastic, PM'd me when he received the carbs and then later that night let me know what was up and then the next day he finished up and shipped them back. Highly recommend his service to anyone that has ANY doubts about their carbs. Well worth the time and money. Thanks!

I recently got my 1991 EX500 back in my possession, it will need some attention due to it spent almost 4 years in the elements.
The carbs are 25 years old, so the are in need of a full refurbishment. Needless to say Ducatiman will be doing the carbs, as he's the only person that not only I trust with them, he has the knowledge and equipment to do an excellent job.

Another member actually referred me to Gordon's carb cleaning services since I was having issues with my bike. I'm still a relative n00b to the motorcycle world and am really glad that I chose Gordon's service. He discovered and corrected existing issues that I probably wouldn't have found (or would have further complicated) and offered great advice as well. Like what other members have said - great communication, quick turnaround time (received the cleaned carbs exactly one week after sending them out), and just excellent service all around.
Thanks again Gordon! Haven't installed the freshly cleaned carbs back into my bike yet, but I'll update once everything is working again |

Another satisfied customer chiming in - Gordon's reputation for quality work and quick turnaround is exactly as advertised. He's on top of it the entire way and is great about communicating where it is in the process. His work is just as good as others have said - carbs look beautiful and the bike runs fantastic.

I set him the carbs off my 1991 Kawasaki EX500, which were in desperate need of attention. He found a few issues, one of which was a damaged diaphragm on one of the slides, and also a broken choke part, along with clogs, etc.. which is expected after sitting for so long,, and outside in the elements. I'll let him give the low down on the exact issues. Below is the before/after pictures which speak for themselves. They look better than new, and I'm sure will perform better than new. Thanks again Gordon for you top notch workmanship, and most importantly pride in his craft.

Tonight was the night, after addressing some other issues, it finally running after sitting for 4 1/2 years.
Installed the carbs, tank was empty, added fresh gas, added some Sti-Bil Marine 360, primed the carbs, and hit the starter button, and it came to life. A little rough for a few seconds, and when smoothed out, had to adjust the idle a hair bit more. It idles smooth, and perfect, after it was warmed up, I bipped the throttle a few time and it was very responsive, and smooth. Well done sir, well done thank you again Gordon, this is why I trust him with my carbs, and recommend his services all the time, money we spent. Doing it right the first time, one and done.

I sent my pregen carbs to Gordon and they came back looking like new, as previously reported by happy customers. I knew that my carbs had some small problems like backfiring occasionally when slowing down, and stumbling after a long downhill coast when I got back on the throttle, but overall I thought they were in pretty good shape.
Now it really is like a new motorcycle. It started and settled down to a 1,500 rpm idle much easier and sooner than I'm used to, and it no longer needs the needle shims I put in to get rid of the 60 mph steady throttle surging. Luckily I asked Gordon to leave them out. It pulls smoothly and steadily from idle to redline. Thanks @ducatiman! |

I've cleaned and rebuilt my own carbs all my life, Gordon. But these are much more of a pain to remove and replace than on my other motorcycles, and there are a lot more things that can go wrong or be omitted with the job. I can envision having to take two or three tries to get them right, and that's if things go pretty well. It was truly a pleasure to send them to you and get them back in such as-new condition. I can see why there are members here who do their own major engine work, but don't bother working on these carbs when you are so skilled at it. May you continue this work for many years!
